UK sales for April 2019 – Nintendo the best-selling publisher of the month

New sales data is in from the UK for the month of April 2019.
For the first time since January, Switch has taken over the Xbox One in terms of both unit sales and value in April. The company is also the best-selling publisher of the month, replacing Ubisoft at the top. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Yoshi’s Crafted Word, and New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe were all in the top ten for the month.
Venture Kid Switch pre-sales have already surpassed Steam lifetime sales

Venture Kid hasn’t gone on sale for Switch just yet, but the game is doing very well. Publisher Entertainment says that pre-sales of the retro-action platformer on the eShop have already surpassed Steam lifetime sales.
Venture Kid is due out for Switch via the eShop on May 2. If you pre-order the game, you can get it for $7.50 instead of the usual $10 asking price.

Katana Zero has sold over 100,000 copies in its first week, developer Askiisoft has announced. That number applies to data across all platforms. Devolver Digital said a short while ago that Katana Zero is its second fastest selling Switch title.
Players can look forward to more content for the game in the future. Askiisoft is working on the first free DLC, and a speedrun mode is in the works.

Katana Zero has become Devolver Digital’s second fastest selling Switch game, the company announced. It only trails Enter the Gungeon in popularity. At this time, specific sales data has not been provided.
Devolver Digital also announced last week that Katana Zero had become its most pre-ordered Switch game to date.

Switch has now outsold the N64

Nintendo’s latest financial results reveal another major sales milestone for Switch. Through March 31, the system has sold 34.74 million units. That puts it above the N64, which sold 32.93 units in total.
If you’re curious as to what lies ahead, the SNES sold 49.10 million units. Further down the road, the original NES sold 61.91 million units.
