Square Enix has announced that Triangle Strategy has now sold over 1 million copies worldwide. The game originally launched exclusively on Switch back in March of this year, but saw a PC release via Steam last October.

This new milestone includes physical shipments and digital sales of the game across both the Switch and PC versions, although no breakdown by region is provided. The game had initially sold roughly 800,000 copies within two weeks of its launch on Switch, so it’s nice to see the title breach the 1 million mark.

Dragon Quest Treasures Yuji and Pekotte

Dragon Quest Treasures has started up new code distributions for a special King Slime (Yuji) and Killing Machine (Pekotte) that are directly tied to Dragon Quest creator Yuji Horii and VTuber Usada Pekora respectively.

Yuji, a King Slime voiced by Horii himself, has three lines on each of its cheeks. These lines also appear in Horii’s slime sketches. In the game, Yuji can learn various useful attacking abilities like Water Tower.

Earlier this month, ESRB ratings for the Final Fantasy I-VI Pixel Remasters appeared online. Today, December 18, marks the 35th Anniversary of the series, and Square Enix have now officially announced that the games will be launching physically and digitally on Nintendo’s console in Spring 2023. Digitally the games will be available to purchase separately or in a bundle, and standard and collector’s editions of the games will be available to purchase physically from the Square Enix Store.

Dragon Quest Monsters new game

Dragon Quest Treasures producer Taichi Inuzuka spoke to Japanese magazine Famitsu in this week’s issue about the origins of the game as well as the future of the Dragon Quest Monsters series.

Inuzuka described the new title as a “reboot” of sorts after feeling that Square Enix “put in everything we could think of” for Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3 Professional. The team became interested in the concept of using an open-world and went from there. Some fans will be happy to hear assurance from Inuzuka that Dragon Quest Treasures doesn’t mean the Dragon Quest Monsters series is over.
