Octopath Traveler II pre-order bonus

Octopath Traveler II isn’t terribly far away, and we’ve started up a guide to keep you informed about pre-order bonuses from retailers as they’re announced.

After the original RPG became a bit of a hit for Square Enix in 2018, the company is gearing up for an official sequel. The new game is slated to hit Switch early next year. Octopath Traveler II retains the same HD-2D style that made the original so famous. However, some improvements and changes are planned, some of which are based on fan feedback.

A physical version of Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song Remastered is on the way to Switch in Asia, it’s been revealed. English support will be included.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion review

System: Switch
Release Date: December 13, 2022
Developer: Square Enix / Tose
Publisher: Square Enix

In the 25 years since Final Fantasy VII originally graced PlayStations around the world, this monumental RPG has amassed a legacy that few other games have, and has fittingly been rereleased on a wide range of platforms; it is still, even today, the best-selling entry in the Final Fantasy series of all time. The same can’t quite be said for its many spin-offs, which have typically been trapped on their original systems, but that changes with the launch of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion. Once a PSP-exclusive, this action-combat title serves as a comprehensive prequel to the events of the original game, and its remastered version attempts to bring the visuals closer to the style of the recent Final Fantasy VII Remake. But how does this enhanced version of a 15-year-old game hold up on Switch?

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion frame rate resolution

Digital Foundry has taken a closer look at Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion, analyzing technical detail like frame rate and resolution. This includes some information specific to Switch.

Here’s the full rundown:

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light Temple of Osiris delayed

We have a brief update on the Switch versions of Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light and Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, with both titles having been delayed to 2023.

The games were previously announced for Nintendo’s platform in October 2021. They were originally planned for this year, but 2022 is almost over and there haven’t been any status updates.

Chocobo GP Mythril

Square Enix has announced that it is ending support for Chocobo GP in terms of content updates and prize pass levels, and on top of that, sales of Mythril have been discontinued.

The Switch racer just started up Season 5 this week which brought about Midgar as a new track, Croma and Volg as new characters, and more. We have the patch notes here for version 1.4.0 those that missed it.
