Search Party Puzzling Park Coin locations in Super Mario Bros. Wonder

Since Puzzling Park is more difficult than the average stage in Super Mario Bros. Wonder, we’ve written up a guide on where to find all five flower tokens. Most of Super Mario Bros. Wonder’s stages are pretty easy, but then there are the Search Party stages, which take a surprisingly long time to complete in comparison. That’s because these stages sort of require the presence of four players: there are hidden blocks everywhere and most of them are rather difficult to find.

Super Mario Bros. composer on making of Ground Theme

In an interview with NHK, longtime Super Mario Bros. composer Koji Kondo discussed the original game’s music and the making of the Ground Theme.
Kondo spoke with the outlet about how his first go at the track was scrapped. That’s because when it came to the actual gameplay and not just more of a still image that he initially saw, “the rhythm of that song didn’t really match.” Kondo also mentioned his overall goal for the game, which was to “create enjoyable music never seen before using only three notes.”

Retro Studios made Portal-esque Wii pitch “Adept”, details on scrapped “The Blob Game” for DS

Thanks to Did You Know Gaming, we have insight into a couple of short-lived Retro Studios projects – specifically Adept and “The Blob Game”.
Adept was playable in a rough state, but was ultimately just a pitch that Nintendo turned out. It was running in the Metroid Prime 3 engine and was intended to show off mechanics. In late 2007 and into early 2008, Retro was working on Adept that took inspiration from Portal while evolving on the premise – primarily by introducing combat.

[Review] Star Ocean: The Second Story R
Posted on 1 year ago by Dawn in Reviews, Switch | 0 comments
System: Switch
Release date: November 2, 2023
Developer: Square Enix / Gemdrops
Publisher: Square Enix
Star Ocean has been around for a very long time, but for various reasons it has never gained the same sort of recognition or critical acclaim as Square Enix’s other long-running franchises such as Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest. A series that blends science-fiction and fantasy in a mix that might best be described as hit-or-miss across its six installments, it seems to be something that those who have heard of it either embrace wholeheartedly or tactically avoid. But the common consensus amongst fans is that Second Story is the best the series has been to date. After bringing Star Ocean: First Departure R, a port of the PSP remake of the first game, to Switch, Square Enix have now released Star Ocean: The Second Story R, a full remaster of the original game in a new engine with a host of quality-of-life improvements to make it a more modern experience. It is with great pleasure that I say that this is a resounding success, and captures the charm of the original while improving upon it in almost every way possible.
