This week’s Famitsu review scores are as follows:

Following the introduction of the Hoenn Main Story Villain Arc a couple of weeks ago, a new set of content has just released concluding it, along with a couple of associated events. Beyond the new content for the main story, a Poke Fair Scout for the new Sync Pair Sygna Suit Steven & Deoxys and a Team Aqua Villain Event have also become available.

Look below for more information on these events.

Now that L’Arachel: Princess of Light has been released as a Resplendent Hero, Intelligent Systems has announced the next Feh Pass-exclusive Hero. As such, we now know that the next Resplendent Hero joining the game will be Lon’qu: Solitary Blade, and he’ll be available along his own set of Feh Pass quests on August 25, at 12 AM PT.

Publisher GameMill Entertainment and developer IguanaBee have provided a release date for Little League World Series Baseball 2022. The game will be arriving on Switch in just over a week, on August 17, 2022.

Here is some more information on the title:

Bandai Namco has provided another look at Pac-Man World Re-Pac, this time sharing the title’s opening movie. Interestingly, while the original Pac-Man World also possessed an opening movie, this new version is not a remake of the original’s and consists almost entirely of new scenes.

Here’s some more information on Pac-Man World Re-Pac:

Marvel’s Midnight Suns had originally been revealed back in August of last year with a March 2022 release window, but ended up getting delayed to the second half of 2022. It seems that the developers still need a bit more time, as they’ve announced that the game will receive an additional delay.

The game is now set to release sometime this fiscal year on next-gen platforms (meaning it should release before March 2023 for those), while the Switch and accompanying older-gen versions will release sometime afterwards. The delay is owed to the team wanting to deliver the “best possible experience for everyone” and the title being “easily the biggest game [they]’ve ever made”, likely causing a few complications in its development.

Bandai Namco had recently announced Doraemon Story of Seasons: Friends of the Great Kingdom as a new game making its way to Switch later this year. They’ve now given a more detailed release date for the game, at least in Japan, with the title now set to drop on November 2 in the region.

Although this is specifically the game’s release date in Japan, the game was originally revealed with a worldwide 2022 release window. As such, we can probably expect a similar Western release date to be unveiled soon.

A season pass and Digital Deluxe Edition were also announced for the game. The Season Pass will offer three packs of content, each featuring new clothing, furniture, and short scenarios, while the Digital Deluxe Edition will include the Season Pass, two special in-game seed sets and an 80-song digital soundtrack. As before, these have only been announced for Japan, but there’s not much reason for these not to release internationally either.

Original (8/4): After several weeks of rumors, Square Enix has officially revealed Tactics Ogre: Reborn. The game will be releasing for Switch on November 11, 2022.

Tactics Ogre: Reborn is a remake of the 2010 game Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together, itself a remake of the 1995 original of the same name. This version of the game promises visual improvements, a rearranged soundtrack, a redesigned battle system and more.

Live A Live review

System: Switch
Release Date: July 22, 2022
Developer: Square Enix / Historia
Publisher: Square Enix

Back in the days of the SNES, it wasn’t uncommon for games to never see a western release, remaining land-locked to their native Japan. This was relatively common in the case of JRPGs, an arguably oversaturated genre at the time that remained relatively niche in the west. Even new installments of big flagship franchises like Square Enix’s (then Squaresoft) Final Fantasy series didn’t always make it overseas. It’s no surprise then that some of Square’s less well-known JRPGs ended up falling through the cracks, one of these being Live A Live. Live A Live was originally released in 1994 and had even been initially planned as a worldwide release before underwhelming sales prospects in Japan caused those localization plans to be scrapped. But with the game now receiving an unexpected remake, it’s gotten a new lease on life and a long overdue international release, letting everyone experience this presumed classic. That being said, how well does the game truly hold up today? And were the improvements made to this remake enough to bring it up to a more modern standard?

Now that the Ocean Tour is wrapping up, the next event coming to Mario Kart Tour has been announced. The game’s next Tour will be the Sundae Tour, featuring a new Mii Racing Suit, kart elements, and the Sky-High Sundae track which just recently made its way to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

You can check out trailers for both the Sundae Tour and the 12th wave of Mii Racing Suits below:
