FIFA 18 will be released on Switch tomorrow, September 29th, which marks the series’ return to Nintendo consoles after several years of absence. However, it seems like not all Switch users will actually get to play it tomorrow. As GoNintendo reports, German retailer Media Markt has told those who ordered the Switch version of the game that it won’t be arriving this week. Furthermore, the Switch version is currently unable to pre-ordered at several stores, such as Amazon or Gamestop, or had its release date changed to “coming soon” on Thalia.

It’s currently unknown what the issue seems to be, or why it’s only affecting the Switch version of the game. We also don’t know yet if the digital version is affected as well. Its release date is still listed as September 29th on the eShop in Germany, though we won’t know for sure until tomorrow.

Other than some concept art, the Super Mario World interview on Nintendo’s Japanese website with some of its original developers also reveals some fascinating tidbits about the game. One especially interesting part is about Mario and Yoshi – specifically, what exactly is Mario doing with his hand just before Yoshi sticks his tongue out?

Due to the graphical limitations of the SNES, it was never really clear if Mario points at something and tells Yoshi to go get it – or if he hits him on the head, which causes Yoshi to stick his tongue out in surprise. Turns out it was originally the latter, but it was officially changed to the former via some official artwork (though it’s still ambiguous with the in-game sprites). Here’s what Shigefumi Hino, who was the Character Graphic Designer on Super Mario World and who created Yoshi, had to say about it:

Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser’s Minions will be released next week, on October 6th. Nintendo has prepared a launch trailer for the game – watch it below:

Gust has announced the release date of Atelier Lydie & Suelle: The Alchemists and the Mysterious Paintings in Japan: the game will launch on December 21 this year. As was previously announced, Western fans will have to wait a bit longer – the game will be released outside Japan in early 2018.

The official Japanese strategy guide for Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, which is due to be released on December 6th and comes with an in-game code that can be redeemed for two Master Balls, got listed by several retailers. The product description gives us some insight into the contents of the strategy guide, which in turn confirms some returning features from Pokemon Sun & Moon which will be in the new games as well. Specifically, the Festival Plaza, Battle Royal, Poke Finder and Poke Pelago all make a return.

The guide also talks about new moves, abilities and hold items, though it’s unclear if these are completely new or if it’s referring to moves, abilities and items that were introduced with Pokemon Sun & Moon.
