The Cuphead Show, which was first announced in 2019, now has a premiere date and a proper trailer.
The upcoming animated series is based on the game that’s been out on Switch for a couple of years now. It follows the unique misadventures of Cuphead and his brother Mugman.

We’ve got a couple of more notes from the NPD Group detailing the latest gaming sales for the U.S.
First up, it’s been confirmed that Switch was the best-selling hardware platform in units sold during December. We’re also hearing that Switch and PlayStation 5 were essentially tied for dollar sales leadership in the month. Additionally, Switch led 2021 hardware when it comes to both unit and dollar sales.
Along with Switch, 2021 was a good year for Pokemon. We already know that Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl were collectively the third best-selling title of December 2021, and it ranked first on Nintendo platforms for both December as well as 2021 overall. Even more significant, 2021 dollar sales of Pokemon franchise physical software reached its highest annual total since the year 2000.

Microsoft buying Activision Blizzard

Microsoft is nearing a deal to purchase Activision Blizzard, according to an official announcement and major outlets including The Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg.
Activision Blizzard has faced significant controversy over the past few months concerning sexual harassment, general misconduct, and other issues at the workplace. As for gaming specifically, the company holds some major games and IPs with the likes of Diablo, Overwatch, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro. Many of these franchises have already appeared on Switch. Overwatch 2 had also been announced for the platform previously.

Kurogiri announced for My Hero One’s Justice 2

Kurogiri is joining My Hero One’s Justice 2 as a new DLC character, it’s been revealed. Specifics, including a release date and concrete information as to how he plays, have not yet been provided.
Fans of My Hero Academia know that Kurogiri is a significant character as a primary antagonist. By using his Quirk, he can create and manipulate fog that acts as a portal to another location.

Phantom Breaker: Omnia trailer introduces Itsuki

Another character trailer has arrived for Phantom Breaker: Omnia, with Rocket Panda Games and Mages now putting the focus on Itsuki. The character is voiced by Erica Lindbeck in English and Akiko Hasegawa in Japanese.

Monster Hunter Rise ships over eight million copies

Shipments of Monster Hunter Rise have surpassed eight million units worldwide, Capcom announced today. That’s based on combined sales of the Switch and PC versions.
Monster Hunter Rise is coming up on its first anniversary having first launched for Switch in March 2021. The PC version then released just last week. A majority of the game’s sales have been on Nintendo’s console thus far as a result.
