Warner Bros. and NetherRealm have pulled back the curtain on another character for Mortal Kombat 11. Kabal has joined the roster, and we have his trailer below. The character first appeared in Mortal Kombat 3.

Other playable characters in Mortal Kombat 11 include Baraka, Geras, Kano, Kabal, Raiden, Scorpion, Shao Kahn, Skarlet, Sonya Blade, and Sub-Zero.

Apex Legends

Yesterday saw the reveal and launch of a new game from EA and Titanfall developer Respawn. The two companies have released Apex Legends, a free-to-play Battle Royale title. It’s not out on Switch at this time, but that doesn’t mean it’s completely off the table.

Speaking with Eurogamer, lead producer Drew McCoy said Respawn would love to bring Apex Legends to Switch as well as mobile. However, there’s “nothing [they] can currently talk about” for the time being. In other words, we’ll have to wait and see what happens in the future.

Sonic the Hedgehog has been a mainstay at SXSW where a panel has been held in recent years. SEGA has made some notable announcements at the event, including Sonic Mania Plus, one of the first teases for Team Sonic Racing, and more.

Sonic will be back at this year’s SXSW with the “Gotta Go Fast: The Official Sonic the Hedgehog Panel” next month. Once again, it sounds like fans can look forward to announcements.

Nintendo published two more short commercials for Switch today focusing on Super Mario Odyssey and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. We have both below.

Flyhigh Works issued a trailer for Alchemic Dungeons DX, which launches for Switch on February 14. Thus far we have confirmation in Japanese pricing of 800 yen.

Alchemic Dungeons DX is the same roguelike from 3DS, but with added characters, items, dungeons, background music, and more.

The way that Switch works currently, Nintendo’s online architecture doesn’t properly support voice chat. That’s why we’ve seen something like Fortnite taking a different approach, which happens to use Vivox.

Vivox is taking its Switch plans a step further by announcing that it’s making a software development kid available to add text and voice chat to Switch games. Third-parties will be able to take advantage of the same functionality that Fortnite has been offering.

Drinkbox Studios is teaming up with Leadman Games on a special package for Switch. The two sides today unveiled the Guacamelee! One-Two Punch Collection, a physical bundle of both games in the series. Also included is a manual, a double-sided poster, and download codes for the soundtracks.

Etrian Odyssey X

Etrian Odyssey Nexus makes its debut in the west today. Atlus has shared a launch trailer for the game, which we have below.

Robot Riot has confirmed plans to release Gods Remastered on Switch, and it sounds like we could be seeing it sooner rather than later.

Gods, a platformer from the ’90s, came out on a variety of systems such as the SNES. The remake allows players to choose between original pixel graphics or a new 3D mode which also features a new soundtrack.

Feral Interactive published the first screenshots from GRID Autosport on Switch. We have the images available in the gallery below.

GRID Autosport will launch on Switch at some point this year.
