GameStop’s Black Friday 2016 deals
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 4 Comments
Black Friday 2016 deals were already made known this week at retailers including Best Buy, Target, Walmart, and Toys “R” Us. Thanks to BFAds, images showing GameStop’s offerings are now available.
Despite GameStop having the largest ad dedicated to Black Friday, at least in terms of Nintendo titles, there isn’t a whole lot here. There’s pretty much nothing for Wii U, and little for 3DS. The few highlights including $10 off Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice and SEGA 3D Classics Collection for $20.
If you’d like to take a closer look at the Nintendo-related items GameStop is featuring during Black Friday, hit up the gallery below.

Swap Fire hitting the North American Wii U eShop next week
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U eShop | 5 Comments
Swap Fire, a new first-person shooter for Wii U, is coming to the Wii U eShop very soon. The North American date is now locked in for November 17.
Here’s an overview:
“Swap Fire’s a shooter with a literal twist. Shooting other players rips a hole in spacetime thus swapping your locations. You’ll have to commit to losing in order to win in Drop Zone, manage spacetime to dominate the map in Control Point, master the art of teleportation to go for the gold in Swoccer, and much more!
The year is 2139. Retro Quantum Industries (RQI) has invented the next wave of transportation. Forget autonomous vehicles, these scientists invented teleportation! Unfortunately, even 2139’s technologically advanced citizens are terrified to have their bodies teleported through time and space. After spending billions of dollars on R + D, the company cannot afford commercial failure.
The solution is Swap Fire! A high stakes game show, featuring teenage contestants utilizing RQI’s teleportation technology. Sales and usage of consumer grade personal teleporters spiked after the first season of Swap Fire, in which Justin Agitprop was crowned as the Swap Fire Valedictorian. Now, it’s time for season two. The fans are eager and the executives at RQI are more so!”
Swap Fire will cost $14.99 on the Wii U eShop.

Terraria 3DS version 1.04 submitted to Nintendo, details – expanded worlds on New 3DS and more
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, New Nintendo 3DS, News | 1 Comment
The next update for Terria on 3DS is on the way, and it’s quite substantial.
As we heard about before, expanded worlds are coming to players on New 3DS. The team also fixed a number of issues/bugs and also brought it more in line with the PC version.
Here’s the full lowdown:
The 1.04 update is in submission with Nintendo. We’re hoping to be able to release the update globally by the end of November, but until the update clears Nintendo’s checks we won’t be in a position to project a date. The focus of the work for the milestone was stability and being able to offer Expanded Worlds to New 3DS owners, as we have previously communicated.
The stability round was obviously priority number one to those of you having issues. In our own testing we found the game to be almost always stable, but Terraria is a game that everyone plays differently and a minority of you were experiencing crash issues that were blighting your experience. We’ve worked very hard to put in global fixes for these kinds of issues, and along the way encountered some very odd edge cases. Rather than try and explain every issue, we’ve pulled out a few from a long list that you might find interesting:

NVIDIA CEO says people will be “amazed” by Switch, sees relationship with Nintendo lasting two decades
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News, Switch | 92 Comments
During NVIDIA’s latest financial call, CEO Jen-Hsun Huang fielded a question about the company’s growth in gaming revenue. Revenue in this area saw a 60 percent jump and rose by $576 million over the last quarter.
The question prompted Huang to share some interesting comments about Switch and NVIDIA’s overall relationship with Nintendo. If his opinion, he believes the two sides could work together for two decades.
Here are Huang’s comments in full:
“I guess you could also say that Nintendo contributed a fair amount to that growth. And over the next – as you know, the Nintendo architecture and the company tends to stick with an architecture for a very long time. And so we’ve worked with them now for almost two years. Several hundred engineering years have gone into the development of this incredible game console. I really believe when everybody sees it and enjoy it, they’re going be amazed by it. It’s really like nothing they’ve ever played with before. And of course, the brand, their franchise and their game content is incredible. And so I think this is a relationship that will likely last two decades and I’m super excited about it.”
Switch will be incorporating a custom Tegra processor from NVIDIA. Previously, it was said that “development encompassed 500 man-years of effort across every facet of creating a new gaming platform: algorithms, computer architecture, system design, system software, APIs, game engines and peripherals.”

Edrox Interactive hoping to have Bizerta: Silent Evil ready this year, leaving the door open to Switch
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch, Wii U eShop | 5 Comments
We originally heard about Bizerta: Silent Evil last February. While there hasn’t been much news to report as of late, development is still progressing smoothly. In fact, Edrox Interactive is still doing its best to have the game out on the Wii U eShop later this year, according to a message written to fans on Facebook.
Also mentioned is the possibility of a Switch version. If that were to happen, those who purchased the game on Wii U would be entitled to a free copy on Nintendo’s new console.

The Nintendo Power Line was brought back starting today and lasting through Sunday to celebrate the arrival of the NES Classic Edition. Back in the day, players could call in to receive game tips and other help from counselors.
Game Informer now has the full recording of what you’ll hear when you call the “new” Nintendo Power Line. Rather than speaking with a person, you’ll hear an automated recording that promotes the NES Classic Edition, but some tips are sprinkled in as well. Three gameplay counselors have tips for The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Bros., and Metroid, who also share stories about their time working on the hotline.
