This week’s Discussing Everything will be taking place once again tomorrow. However, please note that we’ll be starting a half hour later – 4:30 PM ET / 1:30 PM PT. I’ve been noticing that a bunch more people have been showing up for the second half of the event, so I’ll be curious to see what happens if we begin 30 minutes later than usual. If it doesn’t work out, we’ll return to normal time next week.

Shin’en has been working on FAST Racing Neo for quite some time. In an interview with KonsoliFIN, the studio’s Manfred Linzner revealed that Neo’s development kicked off at the end of 2012. The game began soon after Shin’en wrapped up Nano Assault Neo.

Linzner also spoke about how the team faced a “major challenge” to match or surpass other racers on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC from a visual perspective. The task was made all the more difficult since Shin’en wanted to hit 60 frames per second.

Below are Linzner’s full words:

We started with FAST Racing Neo right after we were done with Nano Assault Neo. So this was end of 2012. A major challenge was to get on par or even beyond what other racing games on PC,PS4 or XB1 offer visually. Those games are done by very large and professional teams (around 30x to 100x times bigger then us). Just the sheer amount of geometry you need to produce for that sweet ‘Nex Gen’ look is insane. Not even to mention the nearly impossible task to render that all at 60fps on the Wii U. Anyway, we liked that challenge. We feel we do our best work when being challenged. You need to find creative ways.

NeoGAF’s “creamsugar” has come through with a new set of sales data leaks from this month’s NPD report.

First, let’s talk about software. Sonic Boom is off to a rough start, as Rise of Lyric only moved 25,000 copies in its first month. Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal on 3DS apparently sold even lower.

On a somewhat brighter note, Persona Q: Shadows of the Labyrinth sold around 48,000 units last month. That’s not too bad considering the game launched during the very last week of November and was up against anticipated titles like Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.

Finally, we have news about the limited edition New Super Mario Bros. 2 3DS XL. Consumers snatched up 140,000 of these handhelds in the U.S. last month.

New crossovers continue to be announced for Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. During today’s Capcom Cup Ultra Street Fighter IV tournament, it was revealed that Blanka and Chun Li will be featured in the 3DS game as outfits for Felynes. You can catch the trailer revealing the new Street Fighter crossover below.

Because of low stock, Marth has quickly become one of the rarest amiibo. But now we’ve apparently seen one Marth figure that could be the rarest of them all.

Marth typically holds just one sword. However, GameSpot was sent photos of an apparent amiibo that features two swords, due to a manufacturing error.

We can’t officially confirm the validity of the photos, so we’ll go ahead and label this a rumor just to be safe. Though GameSpot does say that it has seen three videos showing the defective Marth with his two swords. Assuming it’s true, this is definitely a sweet-looking Marth!

A small Mutant Mudds Easter egg has been discovered in Xeodrifter. One area of the game has a picture of Max shooting at an enemy along with the text, “Max woz here!”. It’s a nice little inclusion from Renegade Kid!

It’s also worth mentioning that there’s another Easter egg in Xeodrifter, according to Renegade Kid co-founder Jools Watsham:
