New Splatoon Update – On Aug. 5, a free software update for the Splatoon game on the Wii U console brings new content to the game, including two new matchmaking modes, new weapon types, an increase to the game’s level caps and more than 40 pieces of new gear. Following this update, more content will continually roll out through the rest of the summer and fall, including the Rainmaker Ranked Battle mode, additional maps and new weapons. Kenny Jay of Big John Games, the studio behind Cube Creator 3D, just announced via Miiverse that their eShop title will be getting a brand new update that was just approved by Nintendo and is rolling out next week! For all of you Cube Creators out there, you can expect to see the update show up for the game on August 6th.

Update (7/29)

Bumped to the top. More details from Circle Entertainment:

– The game has already sold 5000 copies in North America in a “very short time”, appearing on the bestselling list.
– North American sales seem stronger than the equivalents for Japan – this is surprising as the genre and style is, from CIRCLE’s experience, typically better received in Japan.
– The response in Europe has also been “good”.
– The publisher was unable to arrange for the game to have its own promotional eShop shelf in North America, though better support has been forthcoming in Europe.
– Numbers are “encouraging”, and look on track to be better than for Adventure Bar Story.

Mercenaries Saga 2 launched on the North American 3DS eShop earlier this month. It also arrived in Europe last week.

Thus far, Circle Entertainment says that Mercenaries Saga 2 has achieved higher sales than expected. The company also pointed out the many positive comments on its Miiverse community.

SEGA has included a special feature in 3D Sonic the Hedgehog 2. By completing the title, players will gain access to Super Sonic mode. This allows Sonic to begin the game with all of the Chaos Emeralds and 50 rings so he can turn into Super Sonic at any time.
