Kirby Battle Royale launched in both Europe and Japan in November. As for North America, Nintendo is finally releasing the game next Friday, and you can now pre-load it on the 3DS eShop.

You’ll need 1,688 blocks of space (211MB) for the digital version of Kirby Battle Royale. The process will let you purchase the game in advance and download most of the required data. Then on launch day, you’ll only need a small update to begin playing.

The pre-load also comes with a bonus. Nintendo is handing out codes for a “Kirby Battle Royale: May the Best Kirby Win!” 3DS theme.

A Nintendo Direct will almost certainly be held this month. You know it, we know it. For a recap as to why a Nintendo Direct is highly expected within the next couple of weeks, you can read up on this post. But even disregarding that, common sense tells you that we need to hear from Nintendo soon in order to get a better idea about plans for 2018 on Switch and 3DS.

For Switch’s future, we do actually know about a few things from Nintendo, but not everything is confirmed for this year, and there’s a lot that’s up in the air. Bayonetta 1 and 2 along with Dragon Quest Builders are due out in February. Other than that, we don’t really have solid dates. Nintendo has previously announced Kirby Star Allies, Yoshi, Metroid Prime 4, and new entries in the Pokemon and Fire Emblem series. Project Octopath Traveler will be published at some point as well.

Metacritic has a new piece looking at the highest-rated games of 2017. Zelda: Breath of the Wild took the top spot across all platforms, just edging out Super Mario Odyssey by less than 0.3%.

To start off, here’s a look at how Switch / PS4 / Xbox One / PC reviews compared last year, as well as a comparison for 3DS and PlayStation Vita:
