Nintendo has announced some maintenance on the Nintendo Network ID service that will take place Monday evening. During this time you will be unable to connect to networks with your Nintendo Network ID ad all online services which use the ID will not be functioning. The schedule for this maintenance is:

– 12 PM PT – 4 PM PT
– 3 PM ET – 7 PM ET
– 8 PM in the UK – 12 AM in the UK
– 9 PM in the UK – 1 AM in the UK

In addition, tonight will have the weekly Xenoblade Chronicles X maintenance which will halt online services for a short period of time. The schedule for this is:

– 5:50 PM PT – 7:30 PM PT
– 8:50 PM ET – 10:30 PM ET
– 1:50 AM in the UK – 3:30 AM in the UK
– 2:50 AM in Europe – 4:30 AM in Europe

Hyrule Warriors Legends is releasing in Japan today at 12am JST and now fans can pre-load the game onto their system to be able to play right away when it launches. Here are some technical details of the download:

  • Filesize: 16 101 blocks / 2GB
  • Genre: Action
  • Players: 1 (you can control up to 4 characters)
  • Save data file: 1
  • Internet play: special battles
  • Local play: trading Renting Skills for your fairy (2 to 4 people), special battles

Nintendo has also confirmed amiibo compatibility for the game which whill work similarly to in Hyrule Warriors on the Wii U:

  • the amiibo from The Legend of Zelda series allow you to get rare weapons, once a day
  • all the other amiibo allow you to get materials or rupees at random, once a day

If you’ve played Hyrule Warriors, you’re probably aware of the fact that a fairy speaks on Link’s behalf. This makes sense since he doesn’t talk in the Zelda games. But Toon Link, a new addition in Hyrule Warriors Legends, never had a fairy. The developers solved this issue with an interesting approach.

Aryll basically takes on the same role as the fairy for Toon Link. During battle, she’s able to speak for the legendary hero. This is done through the powers of the Pirate’s Charm. You can see this briefly in the video embedded below.

Nintendo has now sent out an official press release recapping the announcements it made today about upcoming 3DS RPGs. If you’re looking for all of the information in one place, be sure to read on below.

Nintendo Provides New Details about Upcoming RPGs for Nintendo 3DS

REDMOND, Wash.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Nintendo provided new details about several of its upcoming role-playing games for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems. This included the announcement of a special Fire Emblem Fates Edition New Nintendo 3DS XL system launching Feb. 19 and the reveal of a Collector’s Edition for Bravely Second: End Layer, which includes the upcoming sequel to the acclaimed Bravely Default game that launches on April 15.

“Fans of role-playing games have just received a boost to their excitement stat,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing. “Nintendo platforms have always been home to high-quality RPGs, and with even more games launching in 2016, this trend is set to continue in a big way.”

Nintendo has now released an official shot of the North American Bravely Second Collector’s Edition, which was just announced at its 3DS RPGs press event. It gives a nice overview of the different items included!

Fire Emblem Fates was another title highlighted during Nintendo’s North American press event today. Two big news updates were shared about the anticipated game.

First, map DLC is planned for Fates starting at launch. New content will be released weekly beginning on February 19.

Also revealed is a special Fire Emblem Fates New 3DS XL, shown above. Note that the game is not included. Pricing will be set at $199.99.

Bravely Second now has a final release date in North America. Previously slated for a vague “Spring 2016” window, the 3DS RPG will hit store shelves on April 15.
