Alan Young passed away yesterday at the age of 96.

One of Young’s more iconic roles was voicing Scrooge McDuck. He most recently provided the character’s voice in DuckTales Remastered, and was also involved with titles such as Disney Magical World.

There’s no question that Young’s work as Scrooge McDuck will always be remembered. We wish his family well during this tough time.

Atlus and NIS America recently terminated their relationship. In Europe, it’s an interesting situation. The two sides no longer working together means NIS America won’t be handling any of Atlus’ releases in Europe going forward.

SEGA SVP of commercial publishing John Clark relayed to MCV that the company is “very interested” in taking over NIS’ role. He said:

“We’re very interested in bringing all of the group’s Japanese content not just to the West, but to Europe in particular. We are always trying to find a way. And that’s an on-going process. That’s something we are continually assessing and talking to and if there are really strong opportunities to support the Japanese content in Europe, we’ll do it.”

You would think that SEGA would want to be in charge here since they’re Atlus’ parent company. Hopefully it all works out in the end!

USAopoly has been dealing with Nintendo-licensed products for awhile, and now you can add another one to the list. A new Monopoly set based on Super Mario Bros. is in the works, and it’ll even be a collector’s edition.

The set has six 8-bit styled tokens featuring Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Toad, Super Mushroom and 1-up Mushroom. There’s also a custom designed 8-bit styled board along with custom goal poles and castles (instead of houses and hotels) plus the “? Block” and Warp Pipe in place of the Community Chest and Chance Cards.

USAopoly lists Monopoly: Super Mario Bros. Collector’s Edition as “coming soon”. There are some claims that it’s already available, though it doesn’t seem to be in stock in places like Amazon. Regardless, look for it soon.

Today, Nintendo announced new Articles of Incorporation. Although the document may seem like a bunch of confusing mumbo jumbo, there is actually a purpose to it all.

These new Articles of Incorporation are a means for Nintendo to set itself up for new businesses. Medical and health devices, “computer software”, managing/investing in “eating establishments”, and IP licensing are all mentioned. Specifics were not detailed, though Kantan Games CEO Dr. Serkan Toto believes it may partially refer to Nintendo’s quality of life initiative or theme park plans.

The Articles of Incorporation go into effect on June 29. That’s the same day as Nintendo’s 76th Annual General Meeting of Shareholders.
