Oddworld creator apologizes for remarks made about Satoru Iwata, clarifies Nintendo comments
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 69 Comments
In April, Oddworld creator and Oddworld Inhabitants founder Lorne Lanning appeared on The GameOverGreggy Show. Though the show was originally recorded in April, some comments Lanning made about Nintendo made the rounds at the end of this week.
Lanning noted a few things – he personally thought Switch would likely be unsuccessful, that it might not be worthwhile for third-parties given what happened on Wii and Wii U, and several other comments.
Ultimately the biggest remark that caught on is something Lanning said about late Nintendo president Satoru Iwata. He said that “The thinking has to change,” before adding: “The biggest problem I see at Nintendo is the thinking. Personally, I think it killed Iwata – that he couldn’t move the organization into a really successful arena.”
Lanning has now apologized “for the poor choice of words concerning Satoru Iwata.” He also clarified what he was originally trying to say. We’ve rounded up everything Lanning passed along on Twitter below.

New Adventure Time and Ben 10 games in development, will be on a Nintendo platform
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 5 Comments
Outright Games announced this week that new games are in development based on Cartoon Network’s Adventure Time and Ben 10 franchises. No systems were mentioned, but we followed up and can now confirm that both will be available on a Nintendo platform.
Outright is keeping quiet on specific platforms. That being said, Switch does seem like a safe bet. We were told: “It is confirmed for Nintendo, we can’t just tell you at this point which platform but I am sure you can imagine which one that would be” – and with a wink emoji.
As for the upcoming titles, thus far we only have the following information:
“Focusing on creating high-quality license-based video games for the family entertainment market, Outright Games’ new titles will take characters from Cartoon Network’s popular original series Adventure Time and Ben 10 to create new experiences for fans and gamers alike. Adventure Time will feature the Land of Ooo submerged into watery chaos, where exploration, battle and even interrogation will be key skills to unplugging the mystery. Based on a brand new TV series of the beloved franchise, Ben 10 will introduce a fresh adventure in the incredible universe where some of Ben’s most infamous enemies await. Players must discover and unlock 10 alien transformations to aid Ben in saving the galaxy.”
The new Ben 10 game is slated for Q4 2017. Adventure Time is planned for early 2018.

Rain Games is making another title in the Teslagrad / World to the West universe
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 0 comments
Rain Games created the well-received Teslagrad on Wii U. This year, the studio also wrapped up World to the West, a title set in the same universe that should also be on the console soon.
Following up on those two games, Rain Games intends to create a third title set in the same universe. Naturally, with things in such as early state (it’s unclear if development has even started just yet), there’s nothing in the way of information for now. However, a release on Nintendo platforms is very likely given Rain Games’ previous support.
