In an interview with Electric Playground, PlatinumGames co-founder and studio head Atsushi Inaba was asked about the projects that were the most enjoyable for him to work on. Inaba pointed to a pair of titles: MadWorld and The Wonderful 101. They were released on Wii and Wii U exclusively.

Regarding MadWorld, Inaba felt that PlatinumGames was able to create an enjoyable and deep experience despite its violence. As for The Wonderful 101, he has fond memories of developing the project with director Hideki Kamiya.

The Game Awards has certainly made a name for itself over the past few years. Millions upon millions of viewers tune in to the show for first looks at new titles and to see all of the trophies handed out. At this point, you could definitely say that it’s one of the industry’s most important events.

Out of everything that has happened at The Game Awards, one of the more monumental moments for creator and host Geoff Keighley was seeing Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma and Breath of the Wild director Hidemaro Fujibayashi come on stage to accept their Game of the Year prize. Keighley told Hollywood Reporter:

Bravely Default II

Square Enix unveiled Bravely Default II at The Game Awards 2019 a couple of days ago. Revo, who worked on music for the original game, is confirmed to be returning.

A listing on the eShop has revealed a release date for Hypercharge Unboxed. The toy-based first-person shooter, which was previously highlighted in one of Nintendo’s indie presentations this past summer, launches January 31, 2020.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III

Engine Software has announced that it is the studio behind the Switch version of The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III. NIS America and Falcom announced the RPG for Nintendo’s console last week.

Engine Software previously ported a number of other titles to Switch. The company’s lineup includes Ni no Kuni, Little Nightmares, Into the Breach, and more.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III already has a confirmed release date of March 19, 2020 in Japan. It’s due out sometime during Spring 2020 in North America and Europe.

Chronos has shown up as the latest boss in Dragalia Lost’s Astral Raids. The battle is available in Beginner, Standard, Expert, and Master difficulties. Players can obtain astral shards and trade them for various rewards. Note that astral pieces are needed to challenge Astral Raids quests.

The Astral Raids with Barbary will be live until December 16.

Pix’n Love, SNK, and Deep Silver are teaming up to offer a special collector’s edition for Samurai Shodown. Known as the “Shockbox Gold Edition”, it includes physical versions of Samurai Shodown and Samurai Shodown! 2 – Pocket Fighting Series for Switch, along with a 134-page art book with numerous illustrations and design documents. 2,500 copies will be produced.

You’ll be able to pre-order a copy here on December 18 at 5 PM CET. Shipment is expected in Q1 2020.

The leadup to Super Nintendo World’s opening at Universal Studios Japan continues. Today, LUCASTUDIOS_USJ shared a few photos of a park crew bus from the theme park.

Super Mario characters are on one side of the bus, and we also have some heavy Mario Kart imagery on the other side. The whole vehicle is decked out in red and blue colors.
