Game Freak is currently investigating a minor glitch involving the Rocky Helmet item for Battle Spot battles. Rocky Helmet is a held item that makes an attacking Pokemon take a small amount of damage if they hit the holder. Normally with items or abilities like this, the Pokemon that made the attack will be counted as the winner if both faint and neither player has more Pokemon. However, if this happens with a Pokemon holding the Rocky Helmet, the holder will be declared the winner.

Magearna is the very first Mythical Pokemon distribution in Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon. Find a trailer for the event below.

Data miners are up to their usual tricks, and have made an interesting discovery about Pokemon Sun/Moon. The two games actually have low-polygon models and animations of each Pokemon walking and running. On top of that, some of the code may hint at Pokemon being behind you.

You can see some of the animations here. Because the models have no textures, they were applied to models used in battle.

What might this mean? Well, it could be an innocuous discovery. Others are hoping it’s a sign of things to come in the rumored Pokemon Stars on Switch.

Assuming the message is legitimate – which seems very likely at this point – Pokemon GO is receiving some sort of update on Thursday. It states that Niantic’s title “is about to expand with new Pokemon” – plus a new Starbucks beverage to celebrate.

Nintendo is now working with HackerOne to crack down on 3DS security vulnerabilities. Those who find and report such flaws can earn up to $20,000.

A post on HackerOne reads:

To that end, Nintendo invites highly skilled researchers to find and address vulnerabilities on the Nintendo 3DS handheld system that could jeopardize that environment. Nintendo is committed to creating a better game-play experience for all through those actions.”

Nintendo hopes to prevent piracy, cheating, and dissemination of inappropriate content to children. ARM11 and ARM9, low-cost cloning, and security key detection are specifically called out when it comes to vulnerabilities.
