Starting today until June 22nd, Giratina will be available for capture on Pokémon Shuffle. This event slightly differs from other challenges in the past, as this is the first ever Escalation Battle. What makes an Escalation Battle different from the other challenges – which have typically been timed events – is that as you beat the stage more and more, the difficulty raises, but with the difficulty rising, your chances of catching Giratina become greater and the rewards much better.

Once you reach Level 5 of the Giratina stage, you will be awarded with 1,000 coins. At Level 10, you’ll be awarded with a Disruption Delay. Level 30 provides a Mega Start, and at Level 50 a Mega Speedup.

To celebrate the launch of this new Escalation Battle, players from around the world will receive a Mega Speedup for free. All you have to do is boot up your game and hit Check In to download the new patch and obtain it!

Wee Man Studios has shared the first official screenshots as well as new details about Lifespeed with Nintendo Everything.

For those who haven’t heard of Lifespeed previously, it’s a futuristic flying racing game for 3DS. It’ll come with 11 playable characters, online leaderboards, and a story mode.

Speaking of the story mode, we have new information on that front. We’re told that cut-scenes happen after almost every race, and there’s even a bit of story that plays our during races themselves. The latter is on the subtle-side, so you’ll have to be careful not to miss it. There are also two alternative endings to the comic book storyline. What you’re able to see will depend on your actions on the race track.

Characters in Lifespeed come from different planets, have their own backstory, and personal rivalries. Personalities are reflected in their statistics, style of racing, and their communications during races. Wee Man Studios hopes that, in the future, they can weave in characters not featured in the story currently as well as introduce brand new characters.

Finally, we have some information about Lifespeed’s weapons. Players fly through rings in order to obtain power-ups and weapon pickups. By flying through a multiplier ring, you’ll receive a big speed increase for a short period of time. You also fly through a weapons ring to obtain a weapon, which include lasers, missiles, mines.

Players can only hold one weapon at a time in Lifespeed. Weapons need to be targeted at the enemy and will only work effectively if you get a strong lock on. Wee Man Studios says that using the weapons locking system effectively is something you’ll need to develop in order to be good at battling in Lifespeed.

Oh, and one more tidbit: it’s possible to perform a starfox-esq barrel roll using the shoulder buttons.

Lifespeed launches on the 3DS eShop this summer. View some screenshots below.

A few years ago, it seemed like The Binding of Isaac would never grace a Nintendo system. That’s because Nintendo seemed to find some of the game’s content questionable – specifically the religious aspects.

You may be interested to hear that The Binding of Isaac’s initial rejection didn’t come from Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime. Speaking with Nintendo Force, creator Edmund McMillen revealed that Reggie “backed” the game in 2012, though former Nintendo indie head Dan Adelman truly pushed for it to happen.

The Binding of Isaac is finally coming to Nintendo platforms this summer. It’ll be on both Wii U and New 3DS via the eShop.

Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures is out now on the North American 3DS eShop. Check out the launch trailer below.

A number of new stretch goals have been announced for the Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Kickstarter.

The orchestrated tracks goal, which was previously announced, is the most attainable. Bloodstained’s Kickstarter will need to reach $3.75 million for this to happen.

Other new stretch goals for Bloodstained include an online challenge mode ($4 million), third playable character ($4.25 million), prequel mini-game for consoles ($4.5 million), and a portable port of the same prequel mini-game ($4.75 million).

Speaking of that prequel mini-game, here’s an overview of that:

PREQUEL MINI-GAME FOR CONSOLES: Inti Creates is so excited about Bloodstained that they’re hoping to create a 2D, pixel-based, retro-styled mini-game that sheds some light on the world of Bloodstained before Miriam awoke from her coma. This is a complete game which will be sold separately, but every $28+ backer copy of Bloodstained will come with a FREE download of this game on PS4, XB1, Wii U, or PC! (Backers at Physical+Digital tiers will be eligible for 2 copies of the mini-game.)

PREQUEL MINI-GAME FOR PORTABLES: At $4.75 million Inti will port their side story game to the PS Vita and Nintendo 3DS. Backers $28 and up will be able to choose any platform for their free copy (or copies)!

With only six days remaining in Bloodstained’s campaign, it’s admittedly going to be difficult to reach those latter stretch goals. It’s be very neat to see that prequel mini-game happen, however.

You can find Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night on Kickstarter here.

The latest Pokémon Shuffle Event will start on Monday, June 8th and run until June 22nd. You will have access to Pokémon Girantina and the stage is the first in what is called Escalation Battle where time you complete a stage, it then becomes more complicated with added obstacles. When you reach Level 5, you will get 1,000 coins and when you make it all the way through to Level 50, you will receive a Disruption Delay item. The likelihood for capture also increases as the stage’s level gets higher.

New stages will also be available on Monday. The stages include Garbodor, Doublade, and Conkeldurr which continue the Pedra Valley stages. Three new Expert stages are also being added, focusing on the Kalos starter Pokémon, Chesnaught, Delphox and Greninja.

Update: The OlliOlli update should also be available in North America (thanks omartin94). I wouldn’t be surprised if the same goes for Titan Attacks as well.

olliolli-update-na

Curve Digital has released updates for the 3DS edition of OlliOlli and Titan Attacks in Europe (18 blocks each). Both titles have received patches bringing them up to version 1.1

We’re not quite sure what these updates do at present, but they’re likely bug fixes. If anyone can confirm that the patches are live in North America, that’d be swell!
