Renegade Kid’s upcoming first-person shooter announcement might just be “Moon Chronicles”. Last Thursday, the studio filed a trademark for the name in the US and it was entered in the Trademark Reporting and Monitoring System (TRAM) yesterday.

Interestingly enough, Renegade Kid regained the publishing rights to Moon today. That’s probably not a coincidence!

Now the question is whether Moon Chronicles is an updated version of the DS original or a true follow up…

Playdeck’s new project, Unsung Story: Tale of the Guardians, could end up hitting 3DS. The game’s Kickstarter has an admittedly high $2.8 million stretch goal for Nintendo’s portable, but it’s doable with a full month of funding.

Unsung Story is a tactical RPG designed by Yasumi Matsuno. Matsuno’s previous works include Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen, Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together, Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy XII, MadWorld, and Crimson Shroud (from Guild01).

You can check out the official Kickstarter page here. The project will need to reach $600,000 by February 14 so that it can secure funding for a PC release.

This month’s digital rewards on Club Nintendo have gone live. Members can choose from Game & Watch: Cement Factory (3DS, 100 coins), Spin Six (3DS, 150 coins), F-Zero (Wii U, 200 coins), and 1080 Snowboarding (Wii U, 200 coins). These items last through February 9.

Nintendo recently added in a trailer for Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest on the North American 3DS eShop. Might that suggest that a Virtual Console release is planned for the near future?

Europe will actually be getting Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest on the 3DS VC later this week. It wouldn’t be too surprising if the game will also be made available in the US on Thursday.

Edmund McMillen’s interest in bringing The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth to 3DS hasn’t waned. Unfortunately, he’s still facing the same issues with Nintendo – that being how the company objects to the game’s religious aspects

McMillen wrote in a recent Q&A for Rebirth posted earlier today:

we want to release on 3ds, and will if given the option. isaac currently goes against Nintendos publishing rules due to its religious aspects.. but stuff might change, you never know.

Publisher Nicalis said last August that The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth could still come to 3DS. At this point, the only way this would seem to be possible would be if the title’s religious elements were removed.

Shin’en has prepared an update for Jett Rocket II: The Wrath of Taikai, and it’s out now in both North America and Europe.

The patch is more than just a means to address bugs. Shin’en has sped up character movement, improved the game’s controls, and reduced the impact upon taking damage.

Shin’en tweeted the update news earlier today:
