A new blog post was just added to the Pokemon GO website. In July, we reported that Niantic would have some of the Pokemon GO Safari Zone events delayed in Europe with the next event still happening on September 16th.

Well the events that were delayed in Copenhagen and Prague as well as Stockholm and Amsterdam officially now have new dates. The new dates scheduled for the event in these countries are now October 7th and October 14th.

Niantic also noted some details on how these events will work:

The first series of Pokémon GO Safari Zone events in Europe are just around the corner! On September 16, official Pokémon GO Safari Zone activities will be taking place at Unibail-Rodamco Shopping Centres located at CentrO in Oberhausen (Germany), Les Quatre Temps in Paris (France) and La Maquinista in Barcelona (Spain).

At each Pokémon GO Safari Zone event, Trainers will receive an in-game medal and special 2 km Eggs from the various PokéStops found at each of these shopping centers. Lures will be activated all day at each PokéStop at the event so Trainers can catch Pokémon together, including Kangaskhan, Chansey, Larvitar, and others. Trainers in the area may even spot Shiny Pikachu, Shiny Magikarp, and various forms of Unown! In order to optimize the experience for all Trainers attending, Gym and Raid Battles will not be available at these shopping centers during the events.

The Pokémon GO Safari Zone events will give Trainers the chance to meet one another and catch up in the team lounges. Attendees will also receive Trainer kits for joining the day’s Pokémon-catching activities. Throughout each of the participating shopping centers, special offers for Pokémon GO Trainers will be available in select stores.

Trainers will soon be able to reserve free, nontransferable tickets to each of the Pokémon GO Safari Zone events taking place on September 16. To receive a QR Code, which is required to participate in the event, the person who claims the ticket must be over the age of 13 and be present with a valid photo ID.

In addition, Trainers who were unable to get tickets will be able to discover and catch some of the Pokémon found at the Pokémon GO Safari Zones events throughout the city where the shopping center is located. We hope everyone will get a chance to explore these amazing cities while looking for Pokémon!

Visit your local shopping center’s Facebook page for information on reserving a ticket to the Pokémon GO Safari Zone events in Oberhausen, Germany; Paris, France; and Barcelona, Spain on September 16.

We’re also happy to announce the new dates for the Pokémon GO Safari Zone events in Denmark, Czech Republic, Sweden and The Netherlands. These dates now include:

  • October 7, 2017
    Fisketorvet—Copenhagen, Denmark
Centrum Černý Most—Prague, The Czech Republic
  • October 14, 2017
    Mall of Scandinavia—Stockholm, Sweden
    Stadshart Amstelveen—Amstelveen, The Netherlands

We’ll be revealing more information on tickets for these events soon. Please visit the local shopping center’s Facebook pages for updates.

We’re looking forward to meeting and catching Pokémon with all of the Trainers able to join us!

Here’s a bit of a strange maintenance update. Early next week, Nintendo will be conducting Switch maintenance specific on one particular service. The screenshot posting tool will be down on Monday / Tuesday for an hour.

The maintenance schedule is as follows:

– 7 PM PT (September 11) – 8 PM PT (September 11)
– 10 PM ET (September 11) – 11 PM ET (September 11)
– 3 AM in the UK (September 12) – 4 AM in the UK (September 12)
– 4 AM in Europe (September 12) – 5 AM in Europe (September 12)

If I’m remembering correctly, this is the first type of maintenance for Switch. On the bright side, all other online services will still be online, and the screenshot posting downtime will only last for an hour.

There’s one last noteworthy excerpt from Bloomberg’s interview with Pokemon CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara. As part of the discussion, Ishihara spoke about he initially doubted Switch’s success, and even told Nintendo as such.

Ishihara added that he “came to realize the key to a successful game is quite simple: software with absolute quality leads sales of hardware.” He did acknowledge Switch’s early success, but Ishihara feels that it needs to take another step to reach a wider audience. While the potential is there, “one shouldn’t overestimate its potential.”

Ishihara’s full words:

Aside from Pokemon GO, Switch was another topic Bloomberg brought up during its interview with Pokemon CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara. Ishihara kept quiet for the most part about the upcoming game for Nintendo’s console, but spoke about the system in more general terms.

Ishihara said that Switch provides an opportunity to create something “that goes deeper and with a higher level of expression.” Playing on an HD TV also affords “a whole different world with graphics and sound.” Ishihara also wouldn’t rule out releasing accessories.
Ishihara shared the following:

Recently, Bloomberg spoke with Pokemon CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara. Pokemon GO, Niantic’s big mobile game, was one topic of conversation.

Ishihara commented on what lies ahead, including new features like trading and battling between players. He also weighed in on how players’ locations could come into play and dealing with social problems.

Here’s a roundup of what Ishihara shared:

A small update is now live for Super Mario Maker, which is version 1.46. It’s a pretty small patch all things considered.

Nintendo’s full rundown of the update is as follows:

– Addressed an issue that caused text in the e-manual to display incorrectly.
– A number of issues have been fixed to make for a pleasant playing experience. (Released originally on 4/27/17)

More:

Fire Emblem Heroes just received a new update. Nintendo and Intelligent Systems have issued version 1.7.0.

The full patch notes are as follows:

・ New Support gameplay feature added.
・ Added a way to view team names when selecting teams.
・ Added an option to search for Heroes by skill within Inherit Skill menu.
・ Added new options to the Settings menu.
・ Bug fixes.

After many years, No More Heroes finally has a new entry in the series with Travis Strikes Again. It may not be No More Heroes 3, but it’s a entirely substantial addition to the franchise that fans have been craving for many years.

During an interview with VideoGameChooChoo, director Suda51 clarified what sort of game Travis Strikes Again is, noting:

“Well again, it’s not a direct sequel to No More Heroes 2, though they are directly related and take place in the same universe. Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes takes place seven years after the events of No More Heroes 2. As you’ve probably noticed it’s ‘Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes’, so ‘No More Heroes’ is more a subtitle, there’s not a number on it. This isn’t a direct sequel and it’s not No More Heroes 3, but it does address some of the things that happened in No More Heroes 1 and 2. While it is sort of a continuation of that stuff, it is not a direct sequel partially because No More Heroes is about one assassin against other assassins, and this isn’t like that. This isn’t exactly a spin-off, or something like that, and while it’s not a direct sequel it is something of a stepping stone on the road to No More Heroes 3. So the way I’d like people to think of this game is like the beginning of a new battle for Travis, a new series within the series.”

Suda51 was further asked if he intends to follow up in the future with a numbered sequel. He said this was a case, before adding: “If this succeeds I definitely want to put out a 3 someday.”
