GameStop has a pair of 3DS games on sale. Paper Mario: Sticker Star and Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask are both $10 each. This seems to be online-only, but we’ll let you know if we hear otherwise.

New writers working on Bravely Second’s story

Bravely Default story writer Naotaka Hayashi is not returning for Bravely Second, this week’s Famitsu confirms.
Producer Tomoya Asano and assistant producer Shinji Takahashi are leading the way on Bravely Second’s scenario. Director Kensuke Nakahara and Bravely Default lead scenario planner Keiichi Ajiro from Silicon Studio, as well as series light novel writer Souki Tsukishima, are all contributing to the scenario as well.

Alphadia Genesis release could be bumped up to Fall 2014

Natsume may bring the launch of Alphadia Genesis forward a bit. The company said on Twitter today that localization is currently ahead of schedule, which could result in a Fall 2014 launch. It was initially announced for winter.

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call – Naoki Yoshida vs. Ichiro Hazama

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn director/producer and Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call producer Ichiro Hazama will have a final versus gameplay battle at Gamescom 2014. It will take place on August 16 at 3 PM CESt. The video above gives a recap of each player’s total fight record, and the proceedings of the previous matchup which took place at E3 this year.

Square Enix has announced its lineup for Gamescom 2014.
For consoles and PC, the publisher is bringing along Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, Nosgoth, Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, and Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix. Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call, Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King, and Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen will represent Square Enix’s handheld/mobile titles.
All of these games will be playable at Gamescom next month at over 180 hands-on stations.
