If it wasn’t clear that Axiom Verge creator Tom Happ wants to port the game to Switch, it should be now. Happ already reached out to Nintendo “many times” in hopes of being approved to develop on the system, but that hasn’t happened. “As soon as we get the green light, we’ll drop everything and get right to work on the Switch version,” Happ told Nintendo Life.

Nintendo has previously stated that the company is prioritizing newer experiences over ports for Switch during the system’s early days. When that begins to change, we should be getting Axiom Verge on Switch.

Chucklefish kicked off its series of development blogs with an introduction for Queen Mercia. Mercia is one of the game’s Commanders, who act as in-game avatars and units.

Here’s the full rundown:

“The Commanders are at the heart of Wargroove – a cast of exciting and energetic characters who each have their own distinct personalities and motivations. As well as acting as your avatars in-game, your Commanders will also be able to fight alongside your army as powerful units on the field. Be careful though, for if they fall, the battle is lost! Here’s a look at the first of our Commanders.

Queen Mercia is the young daughter of King Mercival II, the legendary and beloved ruler of the Cherrystone Kingdom. She is well-meaning, but inexperienced in the matters of diplomacy. Much more comfortable on the battlefield than on the throne, she hopes she can use her energetic and fearless spirit to rule the country she has now inherited, and gain the respect of those around her.

In battle, Mercia charges in with her mighty greatsword. It probably isn’t a great idea to underestimate her based on her friendly demeanour…”

Blaster Master Zero is getting a patch to add Switch Pro Controller support, and it should be out very soon. Inti Creates told one fan on Twitter that the company is doing everything it can to have the update ready for the North American and European release on Thursday.

The tweet reads:


While the release date for Blaster Master Zero’s update isn’t confirmed, we should be finding out when it will be available soon.

The first teaser trailer is online for Away: Journey to the Unexpected. While no specific platforms are listed, we know that it’s bound for Switch thanks to the Nindies infographic sent out last week.

Away: Journey to the Unexpected is a Japanese-inspired, first-person game. The Next Penelope (also coming to Switch) creator Aurelien Regard is working on the project. More information should be shared tomorrow.

Two indie Switch games announced for the platform within the past few days should be making use of HD Rumble.

First up, Choice Provisions indicated during a live stream that the feature will be used in Runner3. Making it an exclusive shows “how confident we are in the system.”

Much like Runner3, Thumper will also have HD Rumble. The game’s developer also said that it should run at 60 FPS.

NST is perhaps best known for the Mario vs. Donkey Kong series at this point. Interestingly though, the studio also helped out SFB Games with development.

NST worked on level design, UI design, audio, and co-production. Since SF Games isn’t the biggest company out there, it made sense for the two teams to collaborate.

Shin’en has revealed that the studio is developing a new project. “We are already working on a new game, but we can’t say more for the moment,” the company stated in an interview with German outlet Nintendo-Online.

Shin’en just wrapped up FAST RMX for Switch. Despite that, the small team has moved on to something new already. Although platforms are unconfirmed, a release on Switch is probably a safe bet.
