Pokemon Presents live stream – June 17, 2020

Today’s Pokemon Presents presentation will be starting not too long from now. The broadcast kicks off at 6 AM PT / 9 AM ET / 2 PM in the UK / 3 PM in Europe.
During the 11-minute presentation, we should be hearing more about the Pokemon Sword/Shield Expansion Pass. Other news should be included as well.

Tactical-RPG horror game Othercide coming to Switch this summer

Publisher Focus Interactive and developer Lightbulb Crew today announced that Othercide, a new tactical-RPG horror game, is heading to Switch. A release is planned for this summer on Nintendo’s console.

SEGA reveals second season of DLC for Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Mega Mix

A second round of downloadable content is on the way for Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Mega Mix, SEGA has revealed. New songs and models are expected to drop starting on July 16 in Japan, though players in the west should have access around the same time.

Ring Fit Adventure sold 1 million units in Japan

According to a Famitsu report translated by Siliconera, Nintendo’s fitness RPG Ring Fit Adventure reached a milestone in selling 1 million units in Japan after 8 months. The outlet also notes that Ring Fit Adventure sold 2.73 million units globally as of December 31, 2019. This milestone is further significant when considering that Ring Fit Adventure is only available with physical peripherals, meaning that these sales are all physical without digital downloads.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will host its latest Spirit Board event this week. This time around, it features characters with horns. Players can earn snacks by defeating them.
The new Spirit Board event goes live on June 19. Similar to previous ones, it’ll last for three days.
Nintendo issues cease-and-desist letter to company that installs mod chips for Switch

Nintendo has a tendency to take a strong stance against the modification of its hardware. Piracy has been a particularly notable issue over the years, which has prompted the company to pursue legal action time and time again. We’re now seeing the latest instance of this by sending a cease-and-desist letter to a company that only installs mod chips obtained elsewhere.
The affected company is Logistics Consulting LLC, which has recently offered a “Nintendo Switch SX CORE SX LITE Mod Chip Service” on its website. While it doesn’t actually make or sell mods, it does provide that installation service. That was enough to set off Nintendo, with the Big N’s lawyers arguing that it violates the anti-circumvention and anti-trafficking clauses of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.
