In celebration of the news, creator Koji Igarashi prepared a video messaging thanking the fans. We have that below.

During E3 2018, Konami announced Hyper Sports R for Switch. The game was touted as a new take on the company’s classic arcade game from 1984. There’s little news since the initial reveal, so perhaps it comes as no surprise that the project has been entirely cancelled.

Konami posted a message about the situation on Hyper Sports R’s official website. In a statement, the company said “various circumstances” led to the game’s cancellation.

The full note reads:

A new update has arrived for My Hero One’s Justice 2 from Bandai Namco. Players can now enjoy the English voice cast for the first time. Various other features have been added, such as support for additional downloadable content, improved game balance and stability, as well as a Data Analytics Setting being added to the Options menu. Let us know how you feel about the new content in the comments below.

Hardcore Mecha

The mecha action game Hardcore Mecha is on the way to Switch, Lighting Games and Game Source Entertainment have announced. A release is planned for October.

Here’s an overview of the game, along with a trailer:

Xenoblade is celebrating its 10th anniversary today. The first entry on Wii initially launched in Japan on June 10, 2010. To celebrate, some special artwork has been prepared, which we have above.

Xenoblade Chronicles wasn’t localized until the European edition in August 2011. North America had to continue waiting for the RPG, as Nintendo didn’t bring it over until April 2012.

Since the original Xenoblade Chronicles, we’ve seen Xenoblade Chronicles X on Wii U and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 on Switch. Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition, a redone version of the Wii title, came to Switch late last month.

The Outer Worlds review

System: Switch
Release date: June 5, 2020
Developer: Obsidian / Virtuos
Publisher: Private Division

Almost eight months after its release on other platforms, The Outer Worlds finally makes its way to Switch, giving players the first real Fallout-esque experience on the hybrid console. The game provides a fantastic RPG experience that never feels too bloated and hits all the right notes with excellent pacing, but as for the new port, taking this ambitious game and bringing it to Nintendo’s console seemed like it may have been a bit much. We’ve seen some technical marvels appear on the platform, but there have been just as many letdowns from games that were just too poorly optimized to make for an ideal experience, even with the luxury of portable play. The Outer Worlds provides an galactic sci-fi epic that’s rich in content and immersion, and while it’s easily a game that should be a must-play for anyone with the slightest interest in RPGs, the Switch conversion is an odd bag that sits on the fine line between acceptable and sacrificial. Quite simply, The Outer Worlds on Switch is playable, but not optimal.
