Switch

EA officially announced FIFA 20 today, the latest entry in its long-running sports franchise. The game will indeed be coming to Switch, but with a bit of a caveat.

According to EA’s website, Switch will be getting a “Legacy Edition” of FIFA 20. What this means exactly is unclear. One possible guess is that this will be a much more modest version of FIFA 20 compared to the main game on other platforms. Rather than packing in all of the new features functionality from the primary version, the Switch release might be closer to a roster update. In any case, we’ll need EA to clarify the details.

FIFA 20 Legacy Edition launches for Switch on September 27.

Amazon UK has opened pre-orders for the Kill la Kill: IF Collector’s Edition. If interested, you can reserve it here.

Arc System Works has been a bit quiet regarding if and how it will distribute the collector’s edition in North America. However, you should be able to place an order on Amazon UK even if you’re from the US despite what the listing says. We were able to add it to our cart and place an order successfully.

The Kill la Kill: IF Collector’s Edition includes the game, an original art book, soundtrack with 21 songs, and Mak-Roquette Squeezie ball-chain.

Suda51 recently stopped by MomoCon and hosted an hour-long panel. Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes was discussed in-depth, and it was announced that the game is making its way to new platforms – although that isn’t really relevant here.

What is relevant is that Suda51 also touched on an interesting topic during the panel. We won’t discuss this in-depth here in case we’re encroaching on territory that some feel would be spoiler-related, but something happens in Travis Strikes Again that will be of interest to Killer7 fans. And according to Suda51, what was shown in that game is canon.

Just ahead of E3 2019, several Bandai Namco announcements have leaked. One of these is related to Switch.

Bandai Namco is bringing the Level-5 RPG Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch to new platforms, including Switch. A remaster is in the works that will provide a higher resolution and enhanced performance on other platforms, but the Switch version appears to be a standard release.

Here’s an overview, along with first screenshots:

Xenoblade Chronicles 2

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 has sold 1.73 million copies worldwide through March 2019. That news comes straight from Monolith Soft’s Tetsuya Takahashi, who shared the news in a crossover interview with Bandai Namco’s Katsuhiro Harada. Takahashi indicated that sales are essentially peaking at that number, which makes sense given how the RPG has been out for quite some time.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 launched in December 2017. It was at 1.42 million copies sold by June 30, 2018. That number moved up to 1.53 million units by September 30 that year.

Here’s a brief overview:

Persona 5 for Switch has been a long-running rumor. It was something that was partially spurred on by fan interest as well as Joker’s appearance in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a DLC character. However, there has yet to be anything official from Atlus.

On that note, Atlus has ruled out bringing Persona 5 Royal – a new version of the original RPG with additional content – to additional platforms (like Switch). That comes straight from a new FAQ published on the company’s website today.

Persona 5 doesn’t appear to be happening on Switch as of now, but the musou spinoff Persona 5 Scramble is planned for the system. Persona Q2 also released in the west on 3DS this week, featuring characters from Persona 5.
