Nintendo developer Shuhei Sugimoto has opened up about creating the effects that were featured in Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury – specifically the Bowser’s Fury side of the package. This comes as part of a post published on the company’s recruitment website.

Original (4/16): GameStop has kicked off a small but notable buy 1, get 1 free sale which includes a number of first-party Switch games.

In terms of Nintendo-published titles, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Bayonetta 3, Zelda: Skyward Sword HD, and Pokemon Brilliant Diamond / Shining Pearl are among the highlights. A few third-party games are also included like Octopath Traveler II (which has been discounted to $44.99 by the way). This is also being lumped in with some games from other platforms as well, so you can mix and match.

Saint Kotar update

SOEDESCO and Red Martyr Entertainment have put out a new update for Saint Kotar.

“The Ritual” and “Void” DLC have both now been added. Between them there are new endings, new playable characters for Viktoria, and more.

Spirit and the Mouse physical

Super Rare Games is working on a physical version of The Spirit and the Mouse for Switch, the company announced today.

4,000 copies will be produced in total. Each unit includes all current content on its cart at the time of printing, a full-color manual, interior artwork, an exclusive sticker, and trading cards.

As Nintendo continues to ramp up its promotions for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, a few new Japanese adverts have now come online. They largely contain the same footage we’ve seen in trailers, but there’s is a tiny bit that’s new here and there.

Shadows Over Loathing

Original (4/19): Shadows Over Loathing, the latest game from West of Loathing developer Asymmetric, has been announced and released on Switch. The physical version will launch this fall.

Shadows Over Loathing is a horror-tinged, Prohibition-era comedy adventure/RPG that transports players to the shady side of an already black-and-white world. Further details can be found in the following overview:

THQ Nordic Digital Showcase 2023wcase 2023

The THQ Nordic Digital Showcase 2023 will air on August 11, it’s just been announced. The event will go live at 12 PM PT / 3 PM ET / 8 PM in the UK / 9 PM in Europe.

HandyGames will start off with a pre-show to give fans a taste of their titles. The actual THQ Nordic showcase will immediately follow, featuring “a whole host of game announcements and project updates.”
