Zelda Echoes of Wisdom how to get a horse

Today, we’re going over how to complete the Runaway Horse quest in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom and get your very own steed.

Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is available now, and it’s got the largest overworld of any 2D entry in the series. That means traversing it on foot takes a long time. Fortunately, it’s possible to unlock the ability to tame and ride horses from Hyrule Ranch pretty early on in the game. This is done through the Runaway Horse side quest, which you can activate by talking to a man in Hyrule Ranch (which is a ways northwest from Lueburry’s House, if you’ve made it there).

Zelda Echoes of Wisdom review

System: Switch
Release date: September 26, 2024
Developer: Grezzo / Nintendo
Publisher: Nintendo

It’s no secret that the Legend of Zelda franchise has seen a big resurgence on Switch. The release of Breath of the Wild in 2017 changed the direction of the series for many years to come – the effects of which we’re still seeing today. For many years, fans wondered if games like Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom would push traditional 2D Zelda titles to the wayside for good. We didn’t have a definitive answer for the longest time, but this week, we finally got it – The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is finally here, and it proves that 2D Zelda not only is here to stay, but has a place alongside Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom as one of the better games in the series. Echoes of Wisdom is a clever, innovative title that brings forth a new and fully fleshed-out way to play the game.

Virtual Boy Nintendo Museum Switch

An interesting tidbit about the Nintendo Museum in Japan has come to light, which is that the playable Virtual Boy station is actually emulated on Switch.

There are a number of things to see and do at the museum, including playing systems and games from Nintendo’s history. The Virtual Boy is ultimately a small footnote for Nintendo given how it didn’t sell particularly well and had a short lifespan. Still, those looking to check out the retro console will be able to do so.
