Alphadia Genesis 1 2 physical

Limited Run Games announced its latest physical release today, with Alphadia Genesis 1 & 2 now getting the boxed treatment. Both RPGs will be sold together in a single package.

The first Alphadia Genesis made it to Switch in August 2020. Alphadia Genesis 2 then followed in July 2021.

Eiyuden Chronicle Rising gameplay

IGN has a first look gameplay video for Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising. In it, the game’s community manager guides fans through 28 minutes of footage. This is our first real look at the town-building action-RPG, which takes place in the same world as Eiyuden Chronicle – which should be appearing on some sort of Nintendo hardware.

We’ve included more information about the game below.

It seems like publisher Bilibili and developer TiGames’ game F.I.S.T.: Forged in Shadow Torch may be coming to Switch. The 2D Metroidvania released last year on PS consoles and PC, but a Switch rating for the game has just popped up on the Taiwanese ratings board (first spotted by Gematsu):

This could mean a release of the game is planned for Switch relatively soon, although there’s been no official word on it. For now, we’ll wait and see if an official announcement pops up.

For those interested, you can check out an official trailer for the game below.

live a live remake

It’s time for the latest Famitsu’s most wanted games chart. This week, the Live A Live Switch remake appears for the first time.

Head past the break for the full chart. All votes were cast between February 23 and March 2.

In the last Nintendo Direct, we saw the announcement of a new entry on the Mario Strikers series after 15 years in the form of Battle League.

The game is one of the many spin-offs in which Mario and his friends play a specific sport. However, I would argue that this is a good example of how to break the usual formula that we see in those titles. What we see in Strikers is indeed soccer, but it’s a kind of soccer far removed from reality, with so many insane concepts that it almost feels like an entirely new sport.

In today’s video, I discuss how Mario Strikers manages to be different and why it’s so nice to see the series coming back with the upcoming release of Battle League. You can check out the video down below.

switch best selling games japan fifth anniversary

Famitsu celebrated the fifth anniversary of Switch’s launch this week with some updated sales numbers. We now have a look at the top 35 best-selling games in Japan since launch.

A similar list was published last year after the fourth anniversary. Once again, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is on top with sales in Japan at over seven million. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is still in second, but Mario Kart 8 Deluxe overtook Pokemon Sword / Shield to come in third. New games included in the rankings are Pokemon Brilliant Diamond / Shining Pearl, Pokemon Legends: Arceus, Monster Hunter Rise, and Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury.

The full list is as follows:

Switch has its fair share of new games, but also quite a large selection of releases from prior generations. And five years in, things are still very strong on that front. This past week we saw the announcement of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection. In last month’s Nintendo Direct, it was revealed that Portal: Companion Collection is in the works. Nintendo has even dabbled with that idea having released Super Mario 3D All-Stars. Obviously that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Switch has shown that it still has a lot of life left, and that means collections will continue to be a mainstay. With that in mind, is there a dream collection you’d like to see? Let us know in the comments below.
