Wii U eShop

Just a few days ago, we heard about FarSight Studios’ plan to bring The Pinball Arcade to New 3DS. But there is another Nintendo version that has long been in development – that is, the Wii U edition.

Some recent comments made by The Pinball Arcade lead designer Bobby King suggested that the Wii U version could still be on the way… but perhaps not. Check out this statement from The Pinball Arcade support team:

Right now we have no concrete plans to bring our game to the Wii U. It’s still in the cards but no definite groundwork has yet been laid out.

That doesn’t sound too encouraging, sadly!

Shiftlings from Rock Pocket Games and Activision/Sierra could be coming to Wii U, assuming a listing from PEGI is accurate. The classification board added an entry into its database for the apparent Wii U version on February 10.

Check out an overview and trailer for Shiftlings below. We’ll try to find out if Sierra can confirm PEGI’s listing.

In this physics based, puzzle platformer you control two, not so bright but lovable, alien space janitors which are the main attraction in an intergalactic reality tv-show without their knowing. While we watch over their shoulders, they are supposed to solve different small tasks on five themed worlds with ten levels each and they are ready to do pretty much everything, from jumping on each-other, to dragging and dropping and using that tube till it bursts.

The fun twist is that those two are connected by an air hose through which they can shift their size which is crucial to survive the hazardous challenges the two get thrown into. As helpful as the tube can be it will also provide additional challenges.

The Wii U version of Cosmochoria is in serious trouble. In a Kickstarter update, creator Nate Schmold explained that he has experienced issues getting the game to run through Construct 2 on the Nintendo Web Framework.

Ultimately, Cosmochoria has been put on hold for Wii U, though it hasn’t been cancelled entirely. “The goal is to focus all my efforts on making Cosmochoria as extraordinarily dope as I can for the full launch and work towards using a successful launch as a platform to form relationships with either an outside publisher or development team in order to make a Wii U port a possibility,” Schmold wrote.

Those who backed Cosmochoria specifically for the Wii U version are being given an opportunity to request a refund. Pledges can also be transferred to the PC version.

Read on below for the full status report on Cosmochoria for Wii U.

Mobot Studios posted a couple of screenshots of its upcoming platformer for Wii U over on on its Twitter account. View them below.
