IGN has a new interview up with Shigeru Miyamoto and Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma about Breath of the Wild. The two discuss how the new Switch and Wii U game is evolving the series, the roles of different characters, horses, and more. Watch it below.

With just a month to go until launch, Famitsu has coverage on The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The magazine recaps previously-known information about gameplay, but also shares new details on characters.

As many of you know, voice acting is featured in Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The characters appearing in the game will also be very individualistic. Familiar races in the series like the Zoras and Gorons can also be spotted.

13AM Games has a couple of updates about Runbow in Europe.

It’s worth noting Runbow Pocket is quite close to release. After experiencing some delays, the portable title is now in certification and a release date will be determined soon.

Also, Runbow Deluxe Edition on Wii U will not be getting a retail release in Europe, despite 13AM Games’ best efforts. The studio explained:

“It looks like after months of trying to find distribution for Runbow: Deluxe Edition in the EU, we are going to officially say that it can no longer be done. We’ve met with a lot of distributors (a lot of distributors), and the fact of the matter is that the Wii U retail support is starting to wind down over in Europe. If you guys are as excited as we are about the Nintendo Switch, then you understand how retailers are looking forward to this new platform. We’re sorry we couldn’t make it work, and really appreciate everyone’s positive attitude trying to make this dream come true.”

As a heads up, 13AM Games is planning a proper DLC for Runbow in Europe. Everything will be discounted by 50% between February 2 and February 16, including DLC.

Earlier today, we had heard that Wii U production had ended in Japan. It turns out that this isn’t just limited to that country though. In a statement, Nintendo of America says: “Wii U production has ended globally.”

So the Wii U has come into an end everywhere. I guess it makes sense for Nintendo to fully move on to Switch around the world.

Nintendo of France kicked off a short Breath of the Wild interview series with Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma. For the first question, he was asked about making nature the focus. This time, Aonuma took on a question about the features he’s preferred to work on to make the experience unique.

Aonuma said in response:

“What I prefer in this game is the freedom of action, which is truly gigantic. The game is designed to allow you to scale every mountain, and the main game mechanic is to climb summits. The world is designed so that when you’re high up, you can see everything that makes it up, and when you find an interesting place, you can go there using your paraglider. Each time, you’re going to climb, look around, glide… It’s a form of movement I haven’t found in any other game, and I think that’s something very amusing and new. It’s that aspect of the game I enjoy the most.”

More comments from Aonuma are likely to be shared in the days ahead. We’ll bring the translations to you once they go live.

Big thanks to Kyrio for the translation help!

We knew that Wii U production would be ending soon in Japan. Today, it looks like that time has come. Nintendo updated its website today confirming that systems are no longer being produced within its home territory. With Switch launching in a month, that shouldn’t be too surprising.
