eShop page for Splatoon shows tag for amiibo support
Posted on 10 years ago by Dennis Gagliardotto(@LyonHart_) in News, Rumors, Wii U | 25 Comments
Just a few days ago we reported that a retailer in South Africa had a few listings up for amiibo for the upcoming Splatoon. The amiibo listed had both “Boy” and “Girl” versions, plus a “Squid” edition that would be bundled with the game. Though nothing has been made official from Nintendo, it seems Splatoon’s eShop page makes mention of the usage of amiibo, further giving this evidence merit. Now though the amiibo compatible could very well be those previously released, it certainly makes you think if Splatoon-based amiibo really may be on the way. I, for one, certainly welcome the notion of having a Splatoon amiibo line.

Koei Tecmo: Dynasty Warriors sales have been declining, but Hyrule Warriors “gave the series some freshness”
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News, Wii U | 34 Comments
Sales of the Dynasty Warriors games have been in a bit of a decline. The series isn’t performing quite as well as it used to.
However, according to Koei Tecmo producer Akihiro Suzuki, spin-offs like Hyrule Warriors renewed interest in the franchise. Koei Tecmo must now satisfy players while keeping the series fresh, he said.
Suzuki told MCV:
Over the years we’ve seen a sales decline. The Dynasty Warriors series is targeted towards the core fans. But we’ve had a few collaborations recently that have given the franchise a second wind because they’ve brought in new fans that hadn’t given Dynasty Warriors a chance. So Hyrule Warriors gave the series some freshness. Now our task is to keep the new players happy now that they’ve had a chance to play. But overall with the franchise, we need to keep it fresh, both the Dynasty Warriors and the Samurai Warriors brands.

Two more tweets were added to the Japanese Xenoblade Chronicles X Twitter account today. In his latest messages, director Koh Kojima talks more about the Soul Voice battle feature and dialogue.
Here’s the full translation:
Soul Voice, as thoroughly introduced during the Battle Presentation, will allow for lively battles, expanding on Xenoblade. It was hard work coming up with character-specific dialogue for the 20 avatar voices + the the set sub-characters, in addition to the audio recording of all of it which was also an effort. …Yes, the Soul Voice dialogue will vary depending on the personality of your avatar.
