Bandai Namco announces Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures 2
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News, Wii U | 4 Comments
Bandai Namco has announced a sequel to Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures. Aptly named “Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures 2”, the game will be released later this year on Wii U, 3DS, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.
Here’s the game’s official overview:
Following the colorful characters and world of the PAC-MAN and the Ghostly Adventures animated series, PAC-MAN and the Ghostly Adventures 2 will feature Pac, Spiral and Cylindria in an all-new storyline as they defend PacWorld from the ghoulish army of Lord Betrayus. Players will be able to explore the lands of PacWorld far beyond the bustling streets of Pacopolis and the Netherworld through the depths of the ocean floor and into space.
In order to defeat the havoc-causing ghosts, Pac will need to do what he does best… EAT! Chomping down on the various Power Berries will give Pac a much needed boost to fight back against his enemies. Utilizing the many types of Power Berries from the Tree of Life, Pac will be able to transform into many different and exciting versions of himself, including enhanced versions of returning powers such as Fire Pac and Ice Pac and epic new transformations including the gigantic PacZilla. Pac will also be able to pilot one of many vehicles seen in the show including the Lemon Rocket and Pacerchini, to help his cause to save the world.
Cylindria and Spiral also join in for the action, allowing players to take control of the Pac’s friends in special fast-paced on-rails levels. The two best friends will also be able to assist Pac with a helping hand when players find themselves in tough situations.

Famitsu has pulled back the curtain on another Nintendo/Tecmo Koei collaboration: Fatal Frame for Wii U. We don’t have any details just yet, but the magazine does share information about multimedia projects to expand the franchise in general.
These include:
– Tecmo Koei is expanding the franchise through a series of new multimedia expansions

Along with today’s screenshot, Sakurai passed along the following message on Miiverse:
For the first time in the Smash series, Beam Swords will feature graduated colors. The attack item on the left is the Fire Bar. This is a peculiar weapon that becomes shorter after each swing.
Super Mario 3D World dev open to revisiting The Adventures of Captain Toad gameplay in the future
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News, Wii U | 4 Comments
The Adventures of Captain Toad are a unique set of courses in Super Mario 3D World. They only encompass a small portion of the overall game, but they were very well received.
Some had hoped that The Adventures of Captain Toad would return in the future – through DLC, a standalone title with brand new levels, etc. While that’s yet to happen, Super Mario 3D World co-director Koichi Hayashida told EDGE this month that the team would “consider doing something with this feature in the future” if fans continue to show interest.
He said:
“We thought they were a lot of fun, so we’re really glad everyone likes them too. If enough fans express such enthusiasm, we’d consider doing something with this feature in the future.”
Kenta Motokura, Super Mario 3D World’s other co-director, also mentioned that the gameplay of The Adventures of Captain Toad was not at all inspired by smartphone titles:
“They weren’t inspired by smartphone games. The idea was to design a game that would become even more fun as you play through it, and this influenced the pace of the game, effectively increasing the rhythm. We felt that a short challenge with quick results would be a good motivation for players to advance onto the next course.”
