Within the past few days, the full GDC presentations for both Splatoon and ARMS were published online. We thought it might be interesting to highlight prototypes of the two games, as this is the first time we have direct-feed footage as opposed to very off-screen videos (which also weren’t complete). A few weeks ago, Famitsu did something rather interesting and out of the norm for the magazine. A questionnaire was sent out to overseas fans – as opposed to readers in Japan – and asked them to share some information about their favorite Japanese games. The results were published in the latest issue this week.

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze load times video comparison (Switch vs. Wii U)

GameXplain has uploaded a new video comparing the load times between Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze running on the Switch and on the Wii U. As you might expect, the game seems to be running noticeably faster on the Switch.
It is important to keep in mind that the Switch version of the game is still pre-release. Additionally, loading speeds vary depending on whether a physical or digital copy is being used. The video tests the Switch version against the physical and digital Wii U version.
The video also shows some of the cosmetic, Funky Kong-inspired changes made to the menu. Take a look below:

Square Enix Store sale includes some DS classics

Square Enix is running a sale through its online store, and several Nintendo titles are included. Many are DS RPGs, including Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker, the Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles titles, Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales, and Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light. A few non-DS games are also on sale such as Theatrhythm Final Fantasy and Deus Ex: Human Revolution – Director’s Cut.

New content is being added today to Minecraft on both Switch and Wii U. The highlights are the Halo Mash-Up Pack as well as the Star Wars Sequel Skin Pack.

WayForward published an update today on their Kickstarter page for Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, detailing the final stretch goal: the Costume Pack DLC. The content boasts three new adventures, featuring Ninja Shantae, Beach Shantae, and Officer Shantae. The developer notes the upcoming DLC will be launching in a few weeks.
