SEGA and Gearbox Software provided the first information on a new multiplayer mode for Aliens: Colonial Marines today.

In Escape mode, a team of four US Colonial Marines players takes on four-player Xenomorph team. While the humans look to escape, the Xenomorphs will try to take down their prey as soon as possible. According to SEGA, “players will have to work together as a team, utilizing each faction’s unique skills, and identifying their opponents’ weak spots to either reach the safety of the escape point or to eliminate their targets.”

This is the second competitive multiplayer mode announced for Aliens: Colonial Marines. A competitive death match game mode had been confirmed awhile back.

The gameplay remains unchanged in the 3DS version. It’s still an on-rails shooter with six levels to go through. More information can be found on Nintendo’s game page.
