The seventh generation of video games was an interesting time, and gave us an abundance of action titles, with many becoming critically-acclaimed, genre-defining hits. El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron, released in 2011, never managed to make that kind of impact, although it did receive a particularly interesting continuation in The Lost Child six years later. Now thirteen years following its launch, the game has finally made its way to Switch in the form of El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron HD Remaster, largely due to fan demand. While it may still be destined to remain overlooked in the face of its far more successful contemporaries, it remains the unique and unforgettable experience it was when it first debuted, both for better and for worse.

At this point, the code name “Switch 2” is pretty much burned into all of our minds. Rumors have been swirling around for some time now, and we’ve only recently received official confirmation from Nintendo that the new system exists at all. In fact, it’s being announced during this fiscal year, which means we’ll at the very least know its name before March 2025. In the meantime, we figured it’d be a good time to think about Nintendo’s next console and some of the features we’d most like to see on it.

Fresh gameplay is now available for 1000xResist, which saw its Switch debut this week. Almost an hour of footage highlights the sci-fi adventure.

Thanks to GamesIndustry, we have new insight into the UK gaming market for April 2024.

The month is lacking in surprises, but if we’re talking about Switch games, EA Sports FC 24 is the highest on the chart at #2. Hogwarts Legacy is the only other title found on Nintendo’s console in the top ten, and that one comes in at #6.

Feperd Games, in collaboration with port developer FreakZone Games, have revealed that a Switch port of Spark the Electric Jester 3 is in the works. As of now there’s no word on release timing.

Spark the Electric Jester 3 is a 3D action platformer that first debuted in 2022. We’ve got some information about it in the following overview:

The 7 Star Primarina Tera Raid Battle event for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is now live, and we’ve put together a guide explaining the best counters you can bring to take it down and claim its rewards for yourself.

The new 7 Star Primarina event lasts until May 12, and it comes back from May 17 to 19. Primarina’s Tera Type is Fairy, and it knows Sparkling Aria, Moonblast, Psychic, and Sing. It also knows Encore and Surf as secondary moves. This Pokemon doesn’t actually boost its stats for this battle, but it does have some rather annoying status moves that we’ve prepared for. This is one of the easier 7 Star Tera Raid Battles, but you should still get ready as best you can.

We have an update on the new Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Mio scale figure, including a release date, pre-orders, and photos. This was first revealed during Smile Fest 2022.

The figure is based on an original illustration drawn by Masatsugu Saito, the character designer of the series. The team behind it put a lot of care into the sculpting of the details and texture of Mio’s clothes. Additionally, the multilayered base features the Zephyr icon, which is the mark of her initial class.

Some fans believe that they’ve uncovered new tech specs for Switch 2, and have apparently done so in a bit of a bizarre way.

Believe it or not, the information seems to have originated from customs and shipping data. Fans have keep keeping an eye on shipments being sent between Nintendo, NVIDIA, and other parts manufacturers. March shipping information only just became viewable this week, and references to a number of new shipments with new codenames have been found that many believe are components for the next Nintendo console.

Courtesy of Secret Mode and Cosmonaut Studios, we have a release date for Eternal Threads. It’ll be available for Switch on May 23, 2024.

Eternal Threads, a time-twisting narrative adventure title, was announced for Switch a couple of years ago. The original plan was for the Switch version to launch towards the end of 2022, but that didn’t end up happening. Fortunately, the port is now just a couple of weeks away.

For those that need a refresher on the game, check out the following overview:
