A few days ago, Valve News Network hosted a live stream with Grey Newell, the son of Valve boss Gabe Newell. Grey ended up sharing an interesting tidbit about Nintendo during the event.
Apparently, many years ago, Valve’s founder visited Japan and met with Nintendo about a joint venture “that ended up not happening.” Grey also said he played Super Mario Galaxy with Shigeru Miyamoto.
Nintendo teamed up with NVIDIA to bring GameCube and Wii titles to the NVIDIA Shield in China. Folks are now getting their hands on the device, and an interesting discovery appears to have been made.
Speedrunner Pheenoh is one such person with access to the new version of the NVIDIA Shield. He came across some changes after streaming Zelda: Twilight Princess for over eight hours, such as how Epona and Link cannot be renamed at the start of a new game. It also loads very fast – apparently even quicker than Twilight Princess HD on Wii U.
The new Hotel Transylvania 3 movie is releasing in theaters this summer. Tying in with that, Outright Games has a related title in the works, and it’s planned for Switch.
The Hotel Transylvania game picks up where Hotel Transylvania 3 leaves off. Drac’s Pack find themselves washed overboard and lost on mysterious islands. Players will need to “rescue their favorite monster friends from fearsome enemies, discover lovable new allies with amazing abilities, and push their puzzle-solving skills to the limit to find their friends and the magic compass needed to get back to Hotel Transylvania.”
Outright Games will publish the new Hotel Transylvania game this summer.

The Darkside Detective is coming soon to Switch. A release is planned for February 7, Spooky Doorway has announced.
The Darkside Detective is a classic point-and-click adventure game with six bit-sized cases. It features “retro pixel art with a modern twist”, a soundtrack by Ben Prunty (FTL, Into the Breach), and more.
Here’s the general premise and a trailer:
Detective Francis McQueen is the lead investigator of the criminally underfunded Darkside Division. When evil darkens the doorsteps of Twin Lakes City – hell, even when it just loiters around shop fronts or hangs out in shady alleyways – he’s there, ready to investigate the cases that nobody else will.
