No More Heroes creator Suda51 has looked back on his appearance at the Nintendo Switch Presentation in 2017. He was one of a few developers that took to the stage and teased what would eventually turn out to be Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes. We later saw No More Heroes 3 from Suda51 as well.

For our discussion topic last week, we asked you about your most anticipated games of 2023. We’re continuing on the 2023 theme again by focusing on overall hopes and dreams for the gaming industry this next full year.
Maybe you haven’t given up on the idea of Nintendo coming out with a more powerful Switch or successor? Is there a specific kind of game you’d personally like to see announced? Let us know in the comments below.
A Kickstarter campaign previously opened for A Frog’s Tale, a turn-based RPG. It did quite well with the project exceeding its $50,000 target. In the end the amount actually stands at over $100,000, which was more than double the goal.
The crowdfunding campaign was held “to fund continued development of the playable demo version of A Frog’s Tale.” The team “set a reasonable goal amount with the intention of furthering development enough to land us the rest of the funding we need to complete the game from outside sources.” Thankfully, the goal was met, and a Switch version is an important target.
Bubble Bobble is the latest Arcade Archives title on Switch, and we have new gameplay. Hamster showed off the title during a live stream this week.
Here’s some information about the release:
Type-Moon and Koei Tecmo just announced Fate/Samurai Remnant. The upcoming project was revealed during the Fate Project New Year’s Eve TV Special 2022.
The game is officially described as an action RPG. Other than that, not much else is known. However, we do have the first teaser trailer below.
A physical version of Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song Remastered is on the way to Switch in Asia, it’s been revealed. English support will be included.
Square Enix previously put the RPG on Switch, though it’s mostly been a digital release. With the new boxed copy though, collectors will be able to add a physical copy to their collection. Switch is a region free console, so the origin of where the game is purchased doesn’t really matter.
We now have a release date for Wings of Bluestar, the story-driven shoot ’em up from publisher Eastasiasoft and developer Shinu Real Arts. According to an eShop listing, it will be dropping on January 18.
Wings of Bluestar was announced for Switch nearly a year ago, with Eastasiasoft confirming it for Nintendo’s console in February 2022. There was some sort of delay along the way as it was initially planned for Spring 2022.
In what is an annual tradition for EDGE, the magazine has shared its awards and ten ten games of the year. The results were published in issue #380, which was officially made available to everyone this week.
For the awards, it’s worth noting that Bayonetta 3 took home the prize for “Nintendo Game of the Year”. Nintendo was also selected for “Publisher of the Year”.
Skunkape Games is developing Sam & Max: The Devil’s Playhouse Remastered, the studio just revealed. It will be available sometime in 2023.
This follows re-releases of other entries in the series. A remastered version of Sam & Max: Save the World came to Switch at the end of 2020 followed by Sam & Max: Beyond Time and Space the following year.
