A significant update is coming soon to Steel Diver: Sub Wars, producer Tadashi Sugiyama revealed on Miiverse today.

First, the patch will address errors players have been encountering since launch – error codes [018-0501], [018-0502], and [018-0506]. Network connectivity as a whole will also be improved.

Sub Wars’ upcoming update will additionally add several fan-requested features.

Finally, the game’s Morse code chat room will be closed. Players will still be able to use Morse code chat while waiting for online battles to begin, and during actual gameplay. Sugiyama is considering “something to replace the Morse code chat room, so please be on the lookout for future updates.”

This month’s EDGE review scores are as follows:

Dark Souls II – 9
Thief – 7
Yoshi’s New Island – 4
Earth Defense Force 2025 – 5
Strike Vector – 7
Strider – 7
TxK – 9

About the Yoshi’s New Island review: EDGE criticized a whole lot in its article – the lack of new ideas, the controls, level design, 3D implementation, and music.

EDGE finished its review with the following:

No one part of Yoshi’s New Island is ruinous by itself, but the sum is so much less than the 20-year-old parts from which it’s cobbled together. No one deserves to be duped by the Crayola box art into expecting a true sequel t oa childhood-gulping adventure, which is still counted among the most innovative 16bit games of the mid-’90s. Arzest has laid an egg here, but not of the golden variety.

Along with today’s screenshot, Sakurai passed along the following message on Miiverse:

The tiny Motion-Sensor Bomb is hard to see. If you get any closer, it’s dangerous. I warned you.

SEGA is including a few new features in 3D Fantasy Zone Opa-Opa Bros., which will be out in Japan next week.

Siliconera reports that the downloadable title will allow players to change weapons on the fly via the 3DS touch screen. The game also includes four difficulty settings as well as an option to choose the amount of lives you want to start with (up to five).

Similar to SEGA’s previous 3D releases, you’ll also be able to choose between the Japanese and English versions and select different filters such as a CRT screen.
