Pokken Tournament adding Blaziken in August

A new character has been confirmed for Pokken Tournament. Blaziken is coming to the game in August, this week’s issue of Famitsu reveals.

Pokken Tournament – not just Tekken with Pokemon, made for Pokemon fans

Bandai Namco’s Katsuhiro Harada spoke with Famitsu this week about Pokken Tournament. The arcade fighter is launching very soon in Japan – tomorrow, actually.
In one part of the interview, Harada explains that Pokken Tournament isn’t just a Tekken game with a Pokemon skin slapped on.
“It’s a solid versus game, but at its core, it’s an action game for Pokémon fans. People might think that because we’ve worked on games like Tekken and Soul Calibur or because of the name ‘Pokkén,’ that this game is made for established fighting game players, but I’d like to come straight out and say ‘no, it isn’t.’”
Harada eventually goes on to say that Pokken Tournament was made with Pokémon fans in mind as opposed to fighting game players.
“The tech to make the game and the knowhow behind the massive amount of animations comes from our experience working on the games we’ve made before, but with the gameplay, we’ve set our sights on Pokémon fans.”
One way in which the team attempted to appeal to Pokemon fans was through the UI. This was changed from something that may fighting experts would be familiar with.
“Having the camera looking at the characters facing each other from the side with their stamina bars on the top left and right of the screen is an established fighting game format, but that’s something that experienced fighting game players can understand on instinct. That might give Pokémon fans the impression that the game is harder than it is, so we’ve intentionally gotten rid of that.”
Harada also has some tips for novice players. He suggests that these gamers “should especially focus on blocking”. Even though combos and technique are important, properly blocking enemies’ attacks was the most important divider between beginners and experienced players.

The latest episode of the Japanese program Imagine-Nation features Pokken Tournament. The Pokémon Company president Tsunekazu Ishihara and Bandai Namco’s Katsuhiro Harada were interviewed as part of the show.
Ishihara and Harada touched on a number of topics, ranging from who the game is aimed at to the possibility of a western release. Head past the break for their comments.
Super Robot Wars BX screenshots, latest Japanese pre-order bonus

Bandai Namco has been planning a five-tiered pre-order campaign for Super Robot Wars BX in Japan. A theme and bonus map were previously announced as reservation bonuses, and a third has been confirmed today. All pre-orders will include a code for to download the Famicom game 2nd Super Robot Wars.

Project X Zone 2 delayed to early 2016 in North America as well

Last week, it was confirmed via a new trailer that Project X Zone 2 was delayed to early 2016 in Europe. Now, Bandai Namco Entertainment America have uploaded that same trailer to their Youtube channel, essentially confirming the delay for North America as well.

More Disney Magical World 2 details

Another set of details have come in for Disney Magical World 2 from the game’s official website. Siliconera translated the information, which we’ve rounded up below.
– Enjoy life in the world of Disney like the last game
– Shop, go on walks, go adventuring, fishing, farming, jewel excavating, costume and furniture crafting, partying, and hanging out with Disney characters
– There are different Disney motif interior designs for your cafe
– An episode in Frozen’s world tells the story of what happens between the film Frozen and its short film sequel Frozen Forever
– The scenario and artwork has been done in collaboration with Walt Disney Animation Studio
– Will feature songs like “Let it Go”
– In the dance show mini-game, you can invite buddies and participate with other characters
– Dream Fantasy is a new feature in the game that happens when you fall asleep in the game
– It’s a place full of light and music, and all kinds of magical things that await the player and other characters
– Can take commemorative photos in the game
– Theme song: “Sparke ~Kagayaki wo Shinjite~” by May J.
Disney Magical World 2 getting a New 3DS bundle in Japan, more images

When Disney Magical World 2 launches in Japan later this year, Bandai Namco will also make a New 3DS bundle available. This will come with unique cover plates for the system. It’ll cost 21,690 yen.
