Ace Attorney: Spirit of Justice DLC announced for Japan

Capcom has announced the first bit of DLC that will come to Ace Attorney: Spirit of Justice, although the announcement is currently for Japan only. The “Turnabout that Crosses Time” will be a plotline that takes place after the story of the regular game (and will not even be playable until the main story is completed). The DLC will launch June 30th, and it will actually be free for players until July 21st. It is also described as a complete volume, containing investigation and courtroom sections, and starring Phoenix Wright, Maya Fey, Miles Edgeworth, and Phoenix’s childhood friend, Larry Butz.
The DLC will also be given an introduction during a livestream later today, which can be viewed here. If any important info comes of this stream, we’ll let you know.
Capcom expects to sell 2 million copies of a Monster Hunter game, not Monster Hunter Stories
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 13 Comments
Capcom CEO Kenzo Tsujimoto recently made an interesting Monster Hunter-related comment as part of the company’s latest financial results.
Tsujimoto mentioned that due to business reasons, Capcom can’t talk about its entire lineup yet for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2017. However, aside from the already-revealed titles Monster Hunter Stories, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice, and Resident Evil Umbrella Corps, the publisher also has plans for some sort of Monster Hunter game that is expected to sell around two million copies (plus two more new titles that would sell four million and two million copies each). Capcom’s primary titles for this period are set to be announced in the latter half of the fiscal year.
The big point we’re interested in concerns the mystery Monster Hunter game. Some had speculated Monster Hunter Stories was the title Capcom is looking to sell two million copies of, but now we know it’s something else entirely. What could it be?

A new novel of the Ace Attorney series is coming to Japan on June 15, which goes by the name Gyakuten Saiban – Gyakuten Idol (Ace Attorney – Turnabout Idol).
Here’s a summary:
“An incident happened during a visit to the shopping mall by defense attorney Phoenix Wright! The idol Sumomo Momogaya (not sure about reading) is arrested as a murder suspect. Phoenix becomes her attorney to prove her innocence in court. Finally a novel of the popular game series!!”
Mie Takase, a veteran writer specializing in light novels, has written the Ace Attorney book. Kikuyaro, who has been involved with various Ace Attorney illustration work, is providing illustrations for this piece as well.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice – episode 3 details
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 0 comments
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice is covered quite extensively in the latest issue of Famitsu. The magazine goes over episode 3, and introduces new characters in the process.
Here’s the lowdown:
– Maya arrested on suspicion of murder when a priest is killed during the final rite of her training
– Both were alone at the time in the shrine
– When the murder happened, Maya was playing the role of the country’s mythical bird princess
– Said to have protected the country in a time of conflict
– The bird princess is so popular there’s a show based off of her, “Torisaman” (a play on “Tori”, bird, and “Tonosaman”, the JP name for the Steel Samurai)
– Nayuta returns to Kurain to take the case
– Ema is traveling with him
– She offers to help Phoenix in his investigation with the old Luminol magic
– Two new characters are revealed who have direct ties: Nanashiino Ganbe and Saara Aatam
– Nanashiino Ganbe: a man so amnesiac he’s appended “Tentative” to his own name
– Saara Aatam: the victim’s wife
– Aatam seems to be hiding something
– This leads to the re-introduction of the Psyche-Lock system
– Druk: leader of the revolutionary forces known
– Inga Karakhul Kurha’in: Rayfa’s father
– Inga is not only the husband of the queen but the Minister of Justice in the country, making his struggle against the revolutionaries that much more personal
– Revisualization makes its return
– Unlike AA5 where the process was shown as moving from left to right, here it’s visualized as diving “into” the screen

Rumor: Ace Attorney 6 called “Spirit of Justice” in English
Posted on 8 years ago by Jake in 3DS, Rumors | 3 Comments
Seems that the Japanese demo of Ace Attorney 6 may have turned up some extra info on the game. The demo’s English file name is coded as “Ace Attorney: Spirit of Justice”, which could very well be the title of the game. However, the text could just be a placeholder, a work-in-progress, or Capcom could even change the name if there are too many objections.
