Capcom still has some information to share on Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice. In today’s update, the company touches on the “Revisualization” system, returning from Dual Destinies.

Here’s the breakdown:

– When the courtroom battle reaches its final stage and it seems you need another step to fully grasp hold of the truth, a “Revisualization” is triggered to reach a decisive conclusion
– You’re allowed to review the facts revealed in the court up until that point
– Seek out a route that leads to the truth while organizing events
– Select the correct route using logical reasoning
– It’s possible to review again any number of times to reach the truth if you make an error

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice launches on June 9 in Japan and this September in the west.

We also have a live stream recording from an event held in Japan today:

Capcom has announced the first bit of DLC that will come to Ace Attorney: Spirit of Justice, although the announcement is currently for Japan only. The “Turnabout that Crosses Time” will be a plotline that takes place after the story of the regular game (and will not even be playable until the main story is completed). The DLC will launch June 30th, and it will actually be free for players until July 21st. It is also described as a complete volume, containing investigation and courtroom sections, and starring Phoenix Wright, Maya Fey, Miles Edgeworth, and Phoenix’s childhood friend, Larry Butz.

The DLC will also be given an introduction during a livestream later today, which can be viewed here. If any important info comes of this stream, we’ll let you know.

Capcom CEO Kenzo Tsujimoto recently made an interesting Monster Hunter-related comment as part of the company’s latest financial results.

Tsujimoto mentioned that due to business reasons, Capcom can’t talk about its entire lineup yet for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2017. However, aside from the already-revealed titles Monster Hunter Stories, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice, and Resident Evil Umbrella Corps, the publisher also has plans for some sort of Monster Hunter game that is expected to sell around two million copies (plus two more new titles that would sell four million and two million copies each). Capcom’s primary titles for this period are set to be announced in the latter half of the fiscal year.

The big point we’re interested in concerns the mystery Monster Hunter game. Some had speculated Monster Hunter Stories was the title Capcom is looking to sell two million copies of, but now we know it’s something else entirely. What could it be?

A new novel of the Ace Attorney series is coming to Japan on June 15, which goes by the name Gyakuten Saiban – Gyakuten Idol (Ace Attorney – Turnabout Idol).

Here’s a summary:

“An incident happened during a visit to the shopping mall by defense attorney Phoenix Wright! The idol Sumomo Momogaya (not sure about reading) is arrested as a murder suspect. Phoenix becomes her attorney to prove her innocence in court. Finally a novel of the popular game series!!”

Mie Takase, a veteran writer specializing in light novels, has written the Ace Attorney book. Kikuyaro, who has been involved with various Ace Attorney illustration work, is providing illustrations for this piece as well.
