Capcom has provided a slight update on Devil May Cry for Switch following its announcement last week.

First, the company confirmed that its release for Nintendo’s console is from the 2018 Devil May Cry HD remaster collection. Beyond that, Capcom is keeping quiet on price and the possibility of future ports.

Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen started out as a last-gen title, but it has since come to additional platforms. Most recently, the game launched on Switch. Digital Foundry has now taken a closer look at the port from a technical perspective.

Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen runs at 900p on Switch when docked, which is an upgrade from PS3 original’s 720p resolution. The full aspect ratio is also filled out on Nintendo’s console unlike the PS3 release. However, resolution is a bit lower than that of the PS4 edition’s 1080p. Also, in portable mode, resolution is reduced to 576p.

Capcom today reported its latest financial results for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2019. During that period, net sales rose to 100,031 million yen, up 5.8% from the previous year. Operating income also increased to 18,144 million yen (up 13.1% from the previous year), ordinary income went up to 18,194 million yen (up 19.3% from the previous year), and net income attributable to owners of the parent expanded to 12,551 million yen (up 14.8% from the previous year).

Capcom also had a few encouraging things to say about specific titles once again. Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate “enjoyed robust sales through its release in markets outside of Japan,” the company said. Additionally, Mega Man 11 and Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection “performed well.”

A gameplay video with Japanese commentary laid over it has been published by Capcom for Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen.

The session, which spans about 8 minutes, can be viewed below.

Update: The North American / European equivalents of the site confirm the same news, so it will be digital-only worldwide.

Original: Devil May Cry is finally hitting a Nintendo platform with the upcoming launch of the original game on Switch. Capcom made the announcement earlier today.

The one thing fans have been uncertain of is how the game will be distributed. An eShop release happens for pretty much every title, but physical is another story. And unfortunately, it appears that Devil May Cry won’t be sold at retailers. Capcom opened an official Japanese website today, confirming the news. We also wouldn’t bank on a physical edition in the west since what happens in Japan tends to dictate what takes place in other regions.

In any case, Devil May Cry will be coming to the Switch eShop sometime this summer.

Capcom is bringing the original Devil May Cry to Switch, the company just announced. A release is planned for this summer.

For those who haven’t heard of the action serious previously, here’s a brief overview:

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen

Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen is out today on Switch. For a look at the game’s launch trailer, continue on below.

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen

System: Switch
Release date: April 23, 2019
Developer: Capcom
Publisher: Capcom

Imagine waking up, going down to your kitchen and seeing every utensil you own now suddenly has a different color and function. Your whisk? Slice your bread with it. Potato peeler? No, pizza cutter. That’s Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen, a game that somehow manages to feel totally familiar and utterly unrecognizable all at the exact same time. There are flashes of familiarity to its design – Dark Souls, Skyrim, Monster Hunter and many others – but they all manage to exist as just that, flashes. Underneath the welcoming facade of these similarities there’s a game that will stick in your memory for the foreseeable future, for better and (sometimes) for worse. Originally released in 2012 for the PS3 and 360, Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen was Capcom’s offering to the action RPG pantheon. Now, in 2019, it has made the jump to the Switch in a move almost as peculiar as the game itself – and remarkably, it works.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy originally came out on the DS. Years later, the first three games have made it to HD platforms, including Switch. The team didn’t just leave the pixel graphics as they were, and instead opted to rework them in HD.

Director Shinsuke Kodama spoke about what the process was like in a blog post today. Here’s what he shared about the topic:
