Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection director Masakazu Eguchi has briefly discussed the origins of the release.
Eguchi spoke about how it came to be in an interview with 4Gamer. It seems that the project was in the works for about two years, and while Capcom already decided on things internally, it sounds like fans’ interest also helped make things a reality.

Kazuhiro Tsuchiya has left Capcom, it’s been revealed. Tsuchiya updated his Twitter bio recently which shows that he is no longer with the company.
Arguably the biggest credit for Tsuchiya is serving as producer on Mega Man 11. Additionally, he was involved with the Mega Man Legacy Collections. It seems that his time at Capcom stretches back to Mega Man 7 as a programmer on that title. Overall, Tsuchiya was at Capcom for nearly three decades.

Capcom says Ace Attorney is “doing exceptionally well” worldwide

Famitsu interviewed Capcom COO Haruhiro Tsujimoto this week, and some of the more interesting comments came about when the Japanese magazine asked about a couple of the company’s older IPs.
Tsujimoto indicated that being able to sell things digitally allows for more possibilities these days. He brought up Mega Man and how Capcom has a better understanding of how much something like the just-released Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection could sell (which is already at over one million copies by the way).
Perhaps the most significant comment was Tsujimoto stating that Ace Attorney “is currently doing exceptionally well across the globe.” Capcom is focusing on the fact that the series was created by Shu Takumi to promote the upcoming re-release of Ghost Trick on new platforms since he led the way on that title as well.

Capcom has announced a sales milestone for Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection, with it already selling over one million copies. That applies to all platforms worldwide.
Capcom didn’t provide a breakdown of Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection’s performance by region. However, we do know that as of April 23, total sales of physical copies on Switch in Japan stand at 58,717 units. Other regions and digital sales were undoubtedly big factors.
