Summoning Focus: Weekly Revival 5 is now live on Fire Emblem Heroes. 5-star Heroes who appeared before the start of Book II are here as focus Heroes, and the focus lineup changes each week. You’ll also notice that 5-star focus Heroes have an initial appearance rate of 4%.

Summoning Focus: Weekly Revival 5 will be in Fire Emblem Heroes until July 14.

Another summoning event is on the way to Fire Emblem Heroes. Nintendo has announced “Summer Refreshes”, which features Ursula, Lilina, Wolt, and Lyn.

The new summoning event goes live on July 9. View a trailer for what’s to come below.

It’s time for another character introduction for Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Today’s bio is for Cyril, a servant working for Archbishop Rhea.

Here’s his full introduction:

Fire Emblem Heroes has kicked off Bound Hero Battle: Marth & Caeda. These two characters are from Mystery of the Emblem, and can be found in Special Maps.

Relating to the Bound Hero Battle, players can participate in a new Summoning Focus. Marth: Altean Prince, Caeda: Talys’s Heart, and Catria: Middle Whitewing are available as part of a five-start summoning event.

With Toshiyuki Kusakihara and Genki Yokota appearing at Japan Expo, a few outlets have shared interviews with the Fire Emblem: Three Houses developers. Jeuxvideo was one site that was able to speak with them and commented on the future of the weapon triangle, taking full advantage of Switch, the amount of time to complete the game, and amiibo support.

Below are those excerpts, courtesy of Serenes Forest:

Koei Tecmo is working on Fire Emblem: Three Houses, but it sounds like the game was mostly done by Intelligent Systems. Nintendo director Genki Yokota told VG247 that Intelligent Systems was primarily responsible for the main plot, the game system, ideas, and gameplay mechanics. Meanwhile, Koei Tecmo assisted on the programming side of things.

Intelligent Systems director Toshiyuki Kusakihara said that Three Houses “wouldn’t have been possible” without Koei Tecmo’s help. Yokota was more optimistic, but said that not having Koei Tecmo would have required much more development time.

It’s been well-documented just how important Fire Emblem Awakening was to the series. If that game hadn’t been successful, the franchise could have been in jeopardy. Thankfully, all went well, and Fire Emblem Awakening even achieved huge popularity in the west.

In an interview with VG247, Fire Emblem: Three Houses director at Intelligent Systems Toshiyuki Kusakihara was asked about what made Awakening so successful. Funnily enough, he’s completely unsure. Kusakihara said that the team “didn’t make any change to our philosophy to make Awakening be liked outside of Japan” and doesn’t know “why it’s so popular.”

Fire Emblem: Three Houses was shown off today at Japan Expo 2019 in Paris. Toshiyuki Kusakihara from Intelligent Systems and Genki Yokota from Nintendo were present and revealed a few new tidbits about the game (credit goes to Perfectly Nintendo for translating and transcribing):

Today’s Fire Emblem: Three Houses character introduction is about Shamir, one of the instructors at the academy. A master archer, she used to be a mercenary, but joined the Knights of Seiros as personal favor to Rhea, who had shown her a kindness in the past. She’s loyal only to her and isn’t really a believer in the Church of Seiros.

Here’s a brief clip of Shamir talking to Byleth:

A new skill-based Summoning Focus is now available in Fire Emblem Heroes. As the name implies, “Heroes with Ignis” puts the focus on Heroes who have the Ignis special skill. The 5-star focus units are Hector: Brave Warrior, Thea: Stormy Flier and Leon: True of Heart. This Summoning Focus will be available until July 15.

Also, since it’s Thursday, Tactics Drills has been updated. The new map “To Create the Future Past” can be found in the Grandmaster section; clearing it gets you 300 feathers.
