[Let’s Talk] What’s next for 3D Mario
Posted on 4 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Let's Talk | 0 comments
Nintendo came out of the gates swinging for Switch’s launch year in 2017. A big part of that was due to a couple of heavy hitters that dropped within just a few months of each other. Not only did Switch have a new 3D Zelda game at launch in Breath of the Wild, but it also received a new 3D Mario thanks to Super Mario Odyssey.
We already know what’s next for Zelda. At least year’s E3, Nintendo announced Breath of the Wild 2, and there’s a good chance of it coming in 2021. Mario, however, is more of a mystery. There’s been plenty of love for 3D Mario on Switch with Super Mario 3D All-Stars and the upcoming Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury. However, the next true step is an unknown quantity.
Could we end up seeing Super Mario Odyssey 2? Or perhaps another sequel like Super Mario Galaxy 3? Nintendo could also be pursuing something entirely brand new. Let us know what you think could be next for 3D Mario and what you’d personally like to see in the comments below.

Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros. has a language error

We would like to inform you about a language error with the ‘Mario Drawing’ song in the Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros. system’s digital clock.
When Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros. launches this week, it’ll release with a bit of a language error. Nintendo explained the situation on its official website today.
The ‘Mario Drawing’ song featured in the digital clock displays the wrong set of lyrics depending on the language you choose. French, Spanish, German, and Italian are impacted. However, English, Dutch, and Japanese will always display correctly. It’s possible to access the correct lyrics, but the aforementioned languages are mixed up.

Posted on 4 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 0 comments
According to well-known Nintendo developer Yoshiaki Koizumi, story is added to the Mario titles “at the very end of the game development process”. As a franchise that is much more known for its gameplay, that shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.
Koizumi told The Washington Post in a recent interview:

Nintendo on Mario’s movements and abilities, “very likely” to continue seeing new types of actions

Mario fans have likely noticed that the character’s abilities and movements are never static. Just like gameplay tends to change with each new entry, the same can be said of what Mario is actually capable of doing.
As part of an interview with The Washington Post, Super Mario 3D World and Super Mario Odyssey director Kenta Motokura spoke about Mario’s movements. Motokura noted specifically that with the more recent games, Nintendo has looked to give players “a little more control in mid air” and make some enemies “easier to be jumped on”.

Amazon packages to be randomly delivered in Mario-branded box throughout November
Posted on 4 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 0 comments
Nintendo and Amazon have teamed up in a bit of an interesting way. Throughout November, you may find that a package you’ve ordered from the retailer has arrived in a box themed after Super Mario Bros.
Nintendo says that “the Super Mario Bros. branded Amazon boxes are in limited quantity and will be used randomly, while supplies last.” Furthermore, buying a Nintendo product won’t increase the chance of receiving the branded box.
Outside of the box, there’s another small aspect of the partnership. Amazon has opened a page here where My Nintendo members can earn 100 Platinum Points. The Super Mario Bros. 35th anniversary page lets you look at various Mario products, view a history of the franchise, and find hidden trivia.
