Nintendo Switch Online

Nintendo has just detailed a few additions to the Nintendo Switch Online app on Switch systems. Specifically, they’ve updated the “Missions and Rewards” section of the app, adding a new set of missions to complete for Platinum points along with new user icon elements that can be purchased with those same points. 

The latter is particularly noteworthy, as the last time new profile icons were made available to users was a system update in November 2020. Along with these new icons being made available, Nintendo is also offering new backgrounds and frames that can be used to expand on the customization of user profiles. These new user elements will be available until April 4, 2022, at which point they’ll likely be switched out for a different set.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask has just been made available on Nintendo Switch Online through the Expansion Pack service, and we have gameplay. Just over an hour of footage is available.

Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack was updated to version 2.0.0 today. Although it added Zelda: Majora’s Mask as a brand new game, fixes for prior titles are also included.

One of the aspects widely discussed for Zelda: Ocarina of Time on Nintendo Switch Online was the Water Temple – particularly the implementation of fog in the room with Dark Link. According to Twitter user OatmealDome, it has now been fully restored and essentially looks like how it should, meaning it closely resembles the original release. Nintendo has set a release date for The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask for Nintendo Switch Online. The classic 3D action adventure game will be available on February 25, 2022 – assuming you’re subscribed to the Expansion Pass tier.

We first heard that Zelda: Majora’s Mask would be releasing on Nintendo Switch Online as a February title last month. However, Nintendo did not provide a specific date at the time.

EarthBound and EarthBound Beginnings finally dropped on Nintendo Switch Online today. Shigesato Itoi, the original director, shared a message to celebrate the news.

It has been announced that Nintendo Switch Online subscribers in Europe will be able to try Ultimate Chicken Horse for free as part of the latest Switch Online Game Trial. Like other Switch Online Game Trials, players who hold a Nintendo Switch Online subscription will be able to play the entirety of the game’s content for the duration of the trial, which is scheduled to last from February 9 to February 15. Zelda Ocarina of Time Switch

With last night’s N64 app update as part of the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack service, it appears Nintendo has made subtle improvements to The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

The app was updated in order to bring along Banjo-Kazooie. However, dataminers have discovered that Ocarina of Time has been revisited as well.

Banjo-Kazooie has officially landed on Nintendo Switch Online as part of the service’s Expansion Pack tier, and we now have gameplay. IGN uploaded a video containing 14 minutes of footage.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask is the next game coming to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack service, Nintendo has announced. It will be available in February.

A specific release date will follow later. That’s exactly what happened with Banjo-Kazooie, as you may recall. After the 3D platformer was confirmed for a January launch last month, Nintendo confirmed it would be released today just a couple of days ago. Expect something similar with Majora’s Mask.

Terraria Switch Online

Terraria will be offered as the next Nintendo Switch Online Game Trial in Europe, 505 Games has announced. Like all other releases in the program, those with an active subscription will have a chance to go through the full experience without any sort of limits.

Terraria will be free in Europe between January 26, 2022 and February 1, 2022. When the trial is active, every aspect of the game will be available. Once it ends, any and all progress made can be transferred to the full version.
