Renegade Kid

Moon Chronicles is only on 3DS at the moment. But perhaps that could change with a Kickstarter campaign.

While the studio was burned by its Kickstarter efforts for Cult County, Renegade Kid co-founder Jools Watsham asked fans on Twitter today about potential games they’d like to see take the crowdfunding approach. This led to the idea of a Kickstarter campaign for Moon Chronicles on Wii U, which Watsham finds “interesting”.

Mutant Mudds’ 3DS update is finally out today, but it seems to be causing issues for users. On the bright side, they can be dealt with easily enough.

Players have reported problems pertaining to the diamond and collectible count. Additionally, switching between the game’s two characters on the front screen after unlocking the “Grannie” content is not possible… or so many initially thought.

All can be fixed by beating the first level. That’s all. Just access your save final and complete the first Ghost stage. You’ll see an unexpected end credit teaser, but everything should then be fixed. Hopefully Renegade Kid will produce an official patch in the near future.

The wait for Treasurenauts continues. Renegade Kid co-founder gave a release date update on Twitter a couple of weeks ago, confirming that the 3DS eShop game is scheduled for a Q4 launch.

Treasurenauts was originally announced last February. Renegade Kid hoped to finish its game by the end of 2013, but it was moved to Q1 2014.

Thanks to Jake for the tip.

The 3DS version of Mutant Mudds will be gaining its free update next week, Renegade Kid has confirmed. It will be available starting on July 3 in both North America and Europe.

For those unaware, Mutant Mudds’ update offers the following:

20 New Ghost Levels (originally released on Wii U) – Bringing total level count to 80.
Mid-level Checkpoints – Toggle on/off to suit your desire.
4 Hidden Playable Dev. Team Characters.
New Ghostly Chip-tune Tracks.

Moon Chronicles: Episode 1 has been out in North America for quite some time now. Renegade Kid won’t be bringing the standalone release (or other episodes) to Europe, but the studio has confirmed plans to bring over the entire package as a single download.

All four episodes of Moon Chronicles are targeted for a Q4 release in both Europe and Australia. By bringing out a single game, Renegade Kid will only need to undergo one set of ratings procedures with PEGI, USK and OFLC for PAL regions.

Mutant Mudds

We heard last week that the upcoming Mutant Mudds update for 3DS has been approved by Nintendo of America. Now the patch has received the same approval in Europe.

Renegade Kid co-founder provided an update on Twitter today about the status of Mutant Mudds’ 3DS update.

He said:

For those unaware, the update will bring the “Deluxe” content over to the 3DS.

XSEED released the first Retro Game Challenge in North America, but has confirmed numerous times that there are no plans to localize the sequel. The company doesn’t believe it would be viable from a sales standpoint to invest in the DS title.

But interestingly, Renegade Kid recently expressed interest in handling Retro Game Challenge 2 for XSEED. Co-founder Jools Watsham said on Twitter yesterday that a DSiWare release “would do great on the eShop.”
