Software sales in Japan saw another dip during Christmas

During Christmas week, 1,517,000 games were sold in Japan. Media Create says that number is 79.45 percent compared to sales during Christmas week in 2013. Sales are also down compared to 2012 (1,701,000 units) and 2011 (1,621,000 units).
Gaming sales during the year-end season weren’t entirely underwhelming. All three versions of Youkai Watch 2 were top performers having sold a combined total of 5.079 million units. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate has sold 2.34 million copies and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS has sold 2 million.

Azure Striker Gunvolt has sold over 90,000 copies worldwide

Azure Striker Gunvolt has managed to sell over 90,000 copies worldwide, according to creator Inti Creates.
Inti Creates announced strong sales for the downloadable 3DS game on Twitter today. It was accompanied by a new piece of art from one of Azure Striker Gunvolt’s character designers.

Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley performing beyond Natsume’s expectations

Natsume president and CEO Hiro Maekawa posted a New Year’s message to the company’s Facebook page earlier today.
In it, there’s a mention that “Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley is performing beyond our expectations in North America”. A European launch is taking place this year.

We now have a lineup of the top 100 best-selling games in Germany for 2014. Fourteen 3DS games are on the list as well as five Wii U titles and five older Wii releases. Tomodachi Life was the best-performing game having come in at the sixth spot.
