Splatoon 2

The end of the week means another new weapon for Splatoon 2. The Range Blaster, as its name implies, has a fairly long range for a blaster, but at the cost of a lower rate of fire. It comes with the Suction Bomb sub-weapon and the Ink Storm special. It’ll be available tomorrow around noon in Japan and Australia, early in the morning in Europe and later tonight in North America.

Following up on last week’s update, Splatoon 2 has received another patch. It’s now at version 1.4.1.

It was sort of expected, but today’s update isn’t too significant. Instead of adding new functionality and making adjustments to elements like weapons, this is mainly about addressing a few issues.

Just like in North America, the third Japanese Splatfest in Splatoon 2 has ended. We now have the results for the event that had power going up against endurance.

Team Endurance ended up taking the event. Despite being less popular, there was a slight edge – just a single percentage point – in both Solo and Team battles. That’s ultimately what propelled them to victory by a score of 2-1.

Splatoon 2’s third North American Splatfest has drawn to a close. Who came away with the win: Team Vampire or Team Werewolf?

The Splatfest was incredibly close across the board. No category was separated by more than just a few points. However, Team Vampire had a clean sweep across the board in votes and wins.

The final result was 3-0 in favor of Team Vampire.

This week, Splatoon 2 is getting not one, but two new weapons. The Custom E-liter 4K is identical to the regular E-liter 4K, except that it comes with the Squid Beakon sub-weapon and the Bubble Blower special. The Custom E-liter 4K Scope will also be added to the game. Just like the Scope version of the regular E-liter 4K, this one has a longer range, but can’t store a charged shot. It also comes with the Squid Beakon sub-weapon and the Bubble Blower special.

Both weapons will be available tomorrow around noon in Japan and Australia, early in the morning in Europe and later in the evening today in North America.

Splatoon 2 is getting a new update tonight. But as you would expect, Nintendo isn’t stopping there. Splatoon 2 will continue to receive support in the form of patches, new content additions, and Splatfests.

The next update we can look forward to will be in late November. Nintendo isn’t really going into specifics at this time as to what it has in store, but we at least know that a new patch isn’t that far away.
