Square Enix

This week’s issue of Famitsu has a substantial update on Final Fantasy Explorers. There’s some recap of previously announced information, but there’s quite a bit new as well.

There will be roughly twenty jobs in the game, including the Geomancer. This job uses the surrounding ground to attack enemies and features moves like Earthquake and Sinkhole. If an enemy falls into a sinkhole, it will be hit with the Stop status effect.

Doryuasu is an original summon in Final Fantasy Explorers. It attacks with tentacles and powerful magic spells such as Earthquake. Poison mist emits from its body into surroundings and as such can cause poison, paralysis, and darkness status effects.

This week’s issue of Jump has yet another update for Final Fantasy Explorers.

Here’s the latest information from the magazine:

Jobs

– Dragon knight: Uses “Jump” which is a powerful attack that strikes enemies from above. Ability: Jump
– Beast master: Has the power to control monsters and can absorb enemy’s health with attacks. Ability: Berserk
– Dark knight: Attacker with great power. Uses sickle/scythe and axe which have large range. Ability: Power blood

Other

– Summon: Bahamut. Spits breaths with several attributes, rushes and causes earthquakes as attacks
– When you slay a monster, there is a chance to get a “spirit stone” as a drop. From those stones it is possible to create ally monsters

Those that pre-order Final Fantasy Explorers in Japan are in for a bit of a treat as Square-Enix have announced that the package will come with a download code for the 3DS version of Final Fantasy 1. The download will then surface on the eShop a month later for everyone else to purchase separately, though it’s unknown at the time if this version is based on a previously released port or if it has been enhanced specifically for the console. Additionally, Square-Enix will be releasing a prologue of the game on the day of the full game’s release, which will effectively act as a demo for the game complete with multiplayer, internet features in a similar vein to that of the Bravely Default prologue.
