title update

With the arrival of the Shovel Knight amiibo, the game itself has received an update. Version 2.2 is out now in North America on both Wii U and 3DS. It’s not yet available in Europe, but Yacht Club Games says it “should be rolling out to systems within the next week.”

Shovel Knight’s 2.2 patch also encompasses the 2.1 update, which adds amiibo support. Europe has had access to 2.1 since December while North America has been at 2.0 until today. You can find the notes for the two latest updates after the break.

Cube Life: Island Survival’s 1.1 update was previously made available in North America last month. It’s now out in Europe today as well. You can either wait for your console to download it automatically, or start the software to initiate the download.

– Local Multiplayer with Deathmatch, Tower Defense, Co-op Modes
– Create and play custom maps in Multiplayer (Deathmatch)
– Now more than 350 items and tools

Last week, Super Mario Maker received its 1.30 update. This added some new elements and compatibility with the Bookmark portal site. Today, Nintendo has followed that up with another small patch.

Super Mario Maker’s 1.31 update is now available to download. You can grab it by booting up the game, or wait for it to be downloaded automatically.

Given the small increase in the version number, there’s not too much behind today’s update. Nintendo says some problems have been fixed so that the game can be played more comfortably.

Miiverse

A new Miiverse update went live this week. There aren’t any major additions, but there are a couple of changes.

First, for the Wii U, 3DS, and PC version of Miiverse, users now need to choose a tag when creating a message in the Discussion section. Options include “Hint”, “Question”, “Looking for Teammate”, and more.

Also new to the PC version of Miiverse are links to different game pages on Nintendo’s Japanese website. These pages have basic information about different titles and allow consumers to make purchases. Note that this feature is only live in Japan at the moment.

When Nintendo pushes out updates for the Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS games, we do receive patch notes. But when it comes to the specifics with balance/character changes, that’s usually left to the community.

The folks over on Smashboards have been going in-depth with the Smash Bros. 1.1.3 update to determine what sort of modifications were made to the roster. If you’re interested in those sorts of details, continue on below for the full breakdown.

Next week, Nintendo will be bringing out several new features for Super Mario Maker. We’ll be seeing some new game elements as well as the Bookmark portal site.

Below are the full patch notes for Super Mario Maker’s latest update, version 1.30:

  • Add linkage with the Super Mario Maker Bookmark portal site that will allow a more detailed course search.
